Rigid PVC Ducting 150mm

150mm rigid PVC ducting for kitchen extraction, high-output cooker hoods, MEV systems, and mechanical ventilation runs where maximum airflow and low resistance matter more than thermal insulation.

This collection covers the Verplas System 150 round PVC range — straight pipe lengths in 350mm, 1m, 1.5m, and 2m, together with the full fitting set: 45° and 90° bends, straight connectors, reducers, and wall plates. All components are manufactured in the UK from recycled PVC — predominantly reclaimed window and door frame material — and are designed to push-fit together without adhesive or separate sealing compounds.

Where 150mm round PVC is the right choice

150mm is the standard duct bore for high-output kitchen extraction and cooker hoods rated at 800m³/h and above. For these applications, 125mm creates excessive resistance that degrades extraction performance and increases fan noise, while rectangular flat-channel ducting — though more space-efficient — has worse aerodynamic properties than equivalent-area round duct and is harder to clean. Where space allows, 150mm round PVC is the preferred specification for kitchen and range hood extraction runs.

It is also widely used for MEV (mechanical extract ventilation) central spigot connections and for the main extract branches on residential ventilation systems where the air flow rate requires the larger bore.

What this is not designed for

PVC round ducting in this range has no thermal insulation. Runs through cold loft voids, undercroft spaces, or unheated areas will lose heat and are susceptible to condensation on the duct exterior. For those applications — including MVHR trunk runs and heat pump water heater connections — the Verplas Self-Seal Thermal range in 160mm is the correct product. Note also that some older MVHR units and heat pump water heaters specify a 150mm spigot; the Verplas 160mm to 150mm thermal adaptor bridges that connection without reverting to uninsulated PVC for the main run.

Sustainability

Verplas manufactures all PVC duct lengths from recycled windows and door frames, diverting material that would otherwise go to landfill. The range is UK-made at their Dorset facility.
