The Verplas VFD6/3 is a 150mm diameter PVC flexible duct hose in a 3-metre length, designed for use in domestic and light commercial ventilation installations as a short-run connection between a rigid duct system and a fan unit, terminal fitting, or external grille. The PVC spiral construction is lightweight and highly flexible, allowing it to bend around obstacles and absorb fan vibration in confined spaces such as bathroom ceilings and kitchen ceiling voids.

Installation Guidance: Flexible duct should be kept as short, straight, and fully extended as possible. Compressing or kinking flexible hose dramatically increases airflow resistance and can significantly reduce fan performance. Secure to rigid spigots using worm-drive clips (DIY674).
When to Use Flexible Duct: Flexible duct is ideal for the final connection from a rigid duct run to a fan unit or grille where a small degree of misalignment or vibration isolation is beneficial. For longer runs, use System 150 rigid duct (VKC673) to minimise pressure drop.

Worm Clip Connection
Secured to rigid spigots using worm-drive hose clips (order DIY674 separately). The flex hose slides over the male spigot and the clip tightens to seal.

How do I attach the flexible hose to a rigid spigot?
Slide the flex hose end over the male spigot of the fan, connector, or fitting, push firmly, then tighten a worm-drive clip (DIY674) over the hose end to secure and seal.
Can I use flexible duct for the full duct run?
Technically yes, but not recommended for long runs. Flexible duct has higher resistance than rigid duct per metre, and any compression or kinking further increases resistance. Use rigid duct (VKC673) for the main run and flex only for the final connection.
How much can I compress or bend the hose?
Extend the hose as fully as possible — never compress to less than full extension. Sharp bends should be avoided; use rigid bends (VKC360/VKC361) on the rigid duct run where possible, and use the flex only for gentle routing in the final metre.
Is 3m enough for a typical bathroom fan installation?
In most domestic bathroom installations, 3m is sufficient for the fan-to-grille flex connection. If your rigid duct run brings the system close to the fan or external wall, this is the correct length.
