The Airwise AWMAV100 is a 100mm diameter metal extract air valve for mechanical ventilation duct systems. Manufactured from galvanised steel finished in RAL 9010 white, it provides a durable, professional-grade extract terminal for bathrooms, en-suites, WCs, and utility rooms in 100mm domestic MVHR, dMEV, and single-room extract systems. The adjustable central cone rotates to increase or decrease the annular opening, allowing the installer to set and balance the extract flow rate at each terminal during commissioning. The valve is designed for ceiling or wall mounting directly over the duct penetration point.
About Airwise: A leading UK and Ireland ventilation products supplier based in Tetbury, Gloucestershire — known for quality, integrity, and competitive pricing across the full spectrum of ventilation ducting, valves, and accessories.

Flow Balancing
Extract vs Supply: The AWMAV100 is the extract valve — its inverted (concave) cone geometry draws air evenly from the room into the duct. For fresh air supply terminals at the same diameter, use the corresponding AWMAV100S supply valve. The two valve types are optimised for opposite airflow directions and are not interchangeable.
Commission After Installation: Always set the cone position using a calibrated airflow meter or flow hood after the complete duct system is connected and the fan is running at operating speed. Setting by eye will not reliably achieve the minimum extract rates required by UK Building Regulations Part F.
Key Features
Galvanised Steel Body
Manufactured from galvanised steel for long-term corrosion resistance in the damp, humid conditions typical of extract ventilation terminal locations — bathrooms, kitchens, and commercial WCs.
RAL 9010 White Powder Coat
Factory powder-coated in RAL 9010 pure white for a clean, recessed finish against standard white ceiling and wall surfaces, requiring no on-site painting.
Adjustable Central Cone
The rotating central disc adjusts the annular gap between the cone and the valve body, giving direct control over extract flow rate at each individual terminal — the key commissioning tool for system balancing.
Low-Noise Design
Valve geometry minimises turbulence and airflow-generated noise at the extract face — maintaining acoustic comfort for occupants in domestic bedrooms and quiet commercial spaces.
Ceiling or Wall Mounting
Suitable for ceiling or wall surface mounting, accommodating both horizontal and vertical duct termination configurations in new-build and retrofit installations.
MVHR, MEV & dMEV Compatible
Suitable for use as a terminal valve in MVHR heat recovery, MEV mechanical extract, and dMEV decentralised extract ventilation systems at the appropriate duct diameter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What duct size does the AWMAV100 connect to?
The valve connects to a 100mm round duct spigot at the ceiling or wall. Ensure the duct run terminates at a 100mm connection point before selecting this valve.
How do I set the extract flow rate at the valve?
Rotate the central cone to open or close the annular gap. Use a calibrated flow hood or anemometer at the valve face to measure actual extract rate. Adjust until the measured rate matches the design flow, then mark the cone position.
Can I order this valve in a different colour?
The standard finish is RAL 9010 white. Custom RAL or BS powder-coat colours are available on request — contact your Airwise stockist for lead times and minimum order quantities for non-standard finishes.
Is the valve compatible with flexible as well as rigid duct?
Yes — the valve connects to any standard round duct connection of the matching diameter, whether rigid PVC, semi-rigid aluminium, or flexible duct secured with a worm drive clip.
Does the extract valve include a non-return feature?
The AWMAV extract valve does not include a built-in non-return shutter. Backdraught prevention should be provided at the external duct termination (external grille with gravity shutters) rather than at the internal room valve.
