The Sunamp Optimino PV Key (part code PV02) is the plug-in configuration key that adds solar PV charging to a Sunamp Thermino ePlus heat battery. An ePlus is supplied as a grid-electric unit; fitting the PV02 key to its Optimino controller lets it be heated with surplus solar electricity from a compatible solar diverter, so free generation is stored as mains-pressure hot water instead of being lost to the grid.
Because the ePlus is built around Optimino technology, the upgrade is a key swap, not a new cylinder. Add the key when the heat battery is installed, or years later when a solar array goes on the roof, with no replacement of the heat battery. The key works with the four solar diverters Sunamp documents: the 4-Noks Power Reducer SA, myenergi eddi, my-PV AC·THOR and Power Diverter Model 3, each with published wiring and settings instructions.
It is the natural companion for retrofit and new-build homes replacing a direct hot water cylinder with a compact, low heat loss heat battery that is solar PV ready.

Electrical safety: potential dual supply
All wiring must be carried out by a competent person in line with the latest wiring regulations (BS 7671). Sunamp warns of a risk of electric shock from a potential dual supply: always isolate the supplies to the heat battery and to the solar diverter before working on either appliance. Follow the Thermino ePlus installation manual (D0083) and the diverter wiring and settings instructions (D0085).

Thermino xPlus does not use PV02. It takes the
“02” key that matches its heat source:

A solar diverter is required and sold separately
The PV02 key enables PV charging on the heat battery; a compatible solar diverter then controls how surplus solar power is sent to it. The diverter is not included with the key.
