The Reina Vasto is a chrome ladder towel rail built from durable mild steel, with clean, straight horizontal bars that suit modern and traditional bathrooms alike. It warms and dries towels while adding background heat to a bathroom, en suite or cloakroom, and the bright chrome finish matches taps, shower fittings and accessories.
Choose from three heights (755mm, 1130mm and 1460mm), all with the same 500mm width and 12, 18 or 23 bars of towel space. The Vasto is rated for central heating, electric or dual fuel use, delivers 274 W to 542 W at the UK standard ΔT50 and is backed by a 5 year manufacturer guarantee.

Safety and installation
Fit the Vasto using a qualified installer. Towel rails run hot in use, so consider the position of the rail where young children or vulnerable users could touch it accidentally. Any electric or dual-fuel element must be wired by a competent electrician in line with BS 7671 and the bathroom zone rules, and Part P where applicable.
Key features
Chrome finish on mild steel
Made from mild steel with quality welding and finished in lustrous chrome for strong heat output and a polished look that complements modern bathroom fittings.
Ladder design with 12, 18 or 23 bars
Evenly spaced horizontal bars give generous hanging space: 12 bars (755mm), 18 bars (1130mm) or 23 bars (1460mm).
One width, three heights
Every size shares a 500mm width and 470mm pipe centres, so you can choose the height to suit the wall and heat loss without changing the footprint.
Central heating, electric or dual fuel
Rated C/E/D by the manufacturer: central heating, electric or dual fuel. Dual fuel lets you run the rail on electric in summer with the boiler off.
5 year guarantee
Backed by a 5 year manufacturer guarantee for long-term confidence on a bathroom installation.
Brackets and vents supplied
Supplied with wall brackets, fixings and security screws, plus an air vent and end plug so the rail is ready to mount and bleed.
Heat output and sizing
Outputs below are the manufacturer's central heating figures at ΔT50°C (mean water temperature 70°C, room 20°C), the standard UK reference point, and at ΔT60°C. Match the rail to the heat loss of the bathroom and, where the rail is the only heat source, allow for towel drying demand as well.

Comparing output figures
Reina's headline range of 1461 to 2884 BTU/h is quoted at a higher temperature difference than the UK standard, so it looks larger than the ΔT50 figures above. Use the ΔT50 values when comparing the Vasto with other radiators or sizing against a room heat loss calculation.
Heat pump and low-temperature systems
Output falls significantly when the flow temperature is lower than the ΔT50 or ΔT60 test conditions, as is typical on heat pump systems. Size the rail against the bathroom heat loss at your actual design flow temperature.

Recommended valves
A Vasto towel rail needs two valves: a lockshield valve for balancing and isolation, plus a manual or thermostatic valve for control. Valves are not supplied with the rail. Chrome valves match the rail finish, and the options below suit 15mm pipework.
BEST ALL-ROUND
A matched chrome thermostatic valve and lockshield pair with a liquid sensor and frost protection setting. The simplest way to get a complete, finished valve set.
BRAND MATCHED
Reina's own chrome angled valves for a manual-control set that matches the Vasto finish and keeps the rail hot whenever the heating is on.
STRAIGHT PATTERN
A chrome straight thermostatic valve with integral head for straight pipework runs. Pair with a matching straight lockshield to complete the set.
Choosing the valve pattern
Pick angled or straight valves to suit the direction of your pipework and the connection position on the rail, and check this before first fix. Fit the rail at least 100mm above the floor and not closer than 50mm below any overhanging surface such as a shelf.
Installation notes
Flush the heating system before connecting the rail and treat the system water with a suitable inhibitor as required. Choose wall fixings that suit the wall material, check the wall can carry the weight of a water-filled rail, and use PTFE tape or approved jointing on the valve tails. Fill the system, check for leaks and bleed the rail using the supplied air vent. Clean the chrome with a soft damp cloth and avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners.
What to have ready
Drill with a masonry bit to suit the fixings, spirit level, tape measure, adjustable spanner, radiator valve hex key, screwdrivers and PTFE tape.
Frequently asked questions
Which Vasto size should I choose?
Start with the heat loss of the bathroom. At ΔT50 the outputs are 274 W (755mm), 412 W (1130mm) and 542 W (1460mm). Taller rails give more output and more bars for towels, and all three share the same 500mm width and 470mm pipe centres.
Can I run the Vasto on electric or dual fuel?
Yes. The manufacturer rates the Vasto as C/E/D: central heating, electric or dual fuel. An electric or dual-fuel set-up needs a compatible heating element, which is not included with the rail, so contact our team before ordering and we will confirm the right element for your size.
Which valves do I need?
You need one lockshield valve and one manual or thermostatic valve. The angled Drayton TRV4 chrome pack is the easiest complete option, and the Reina Portland valves suit a manual set. Check the direction of your pipework and the connection position on the rail to choose between angled and straight.
Should I use a thermostatic valve on a towel rail?
A thermostatic valve closes once the bathroom reaches its set temperature, which reduces towel drying in a warm room. Manual valves keep the rail hot whenever the heating is running, so choose the valve that matches how you use the rail.
How much space does it need?
The rail projects 80 to 95mm from the wall, with 65 to 80mm from the wall to the pipe centres. Mount it at least 100mm above the floor and not closer than 50mm below any overhanging surface.
Is the Vasto suitable for a heat pump system?
It can be used, but output falls at the lower flow temperatures typical of heat pumps. The published outputs are at ΔT50 and ΔT60, so size the rail against the bathroom heat loss at your actual design flow temperature and consider a larger height if needed.
