The Reina Claro is a chrome designer towel rail built from robust mild steel with a distinctive vertical circular tube design finished in a lustrous chrome. It warms and dries towels while heating the bathroom, and it suits modern and traditional interiors alike.
Available in three heights (900mm, 1200mm and 1600mm) with a slim 300mm width, the Claro fits narrow wall spaces beside a basin, shower screen or door. It is rated for central heating, electric or dual fuel use and is backed by a 5 year guarantee.

Safety and installation
This product must be fitted only by a fully qualified installer. If the system water exceeds 50°C, the manufacturer requires a warning mark near the radiator to avoid accidental scalding. The rail must not be climbed on or used as a step.
Key features
Vertical circular tube design
Vertically aligned circular tubes give a contemporary look and plenty of surface for hanging towels. Rails have 12, 17 or 22 bars depending on height.
Chrome finish on mild steel
Mild steel construction delivers strong heat output, finished in lustrous chrome that matches taps, shower fittings and accessories.
Slim 300mm width
All three sizes share a 300mm width and 310mm wall distance, so you can choose the height without changing the footprint.
Central heating, electric or dual fuel
Rated C/E/D by the manufacturer: central heating, electric or dual fuel. Confirm the configuration you need when ordering.
5 year guarantee
Backed by a 5 year manufacturer guarantee for long-term confidence on a bathroom installation.
Fixings and vents supplied
Supplied with wall anchors, fixing screws and washers (4 to 6 of each), plus an air vent and end plug.
Heat output and sizing
Outputs below are the manufacturer's central heating figures at ΔT50°C (mean water temperature 70°C, room 20°C), the standard UK reference point, and at ΔT60°C. Match the rail to the heat loss of the bathroom and, where the rail is the only heat source, allow for towel drying demand as well.

Heat pump and low-temperature systems
Output falls significantly when the flow temperature is lower than the ΔT50 or ΔT60 test conditions, as is typical on heat pump systems. Size the rail against the bathroom heat loss at your actual design flow temperature.

Not supplied
Radiator valves (1 lockshield and 1 manual or thermostatic valve are required)
Recommended valves
A Claro towel rail needs two valves: a lockshield valve for balancing and isolation, plus a manual (gate) or thermostatic valve for control. Valves are not supplied with the rail. Choose angled valves where the pipework rises from the floor and straight valves where it comes out of the wall.
BEST ALL-ROUND
A matched thermostatic valve and lockshield pair in chrome, ready for floor-fed pipework. The simplest way to get a complete, finished valve set.
BRAND MATCHED
Reina's own chrome angled valves for a manual-control set that matches the Claro finish and keeps the rail hot whenever the heating is on.
WALL-FED PIPEWORK
A chrome straight thermostatic valve with integral head for pipework from the wall. Pair with a matching straight lockshield to complete the set.
Compatibility
Fit the rail at least 100mm above the floor and not closer than 50mm below any overhanging surface such as a shelf. Choose wall fixings that suit your wall material.
Installation notes
Flush the heating system before fitting to remove mud, scale, flux and oil. If the system water pH is outside 5.5 to 8.5, protect the system with a compatible chemical treatment. Clean the finish with a soft cloth only to avoid scratching, and do not use chemical cleaners.
Tools the manufacturer lists
Electric drill with a masonry bit suited to the fixings, spirit level, measuring tape, adjustable spanner, radiator valve hex key, flat and Phillips screwdrivers and PTFE tape.
Frequently asked questions
Which Claro size should I choose?
Start with the heat loss of the bathroom. At ΔT50 the outputs are 291 W (900mm), 402 W (1200mm) and 524 W (1600mm). Taller rails give more output and more bars for towels, and all three share the same 300mm width.
Can I run the Claro on electric or dual fuel?
The manufacturer rates the Claro as C/E/D: central heating, electric or dual fuel. The supplied-parts list covers the air vent and end plug only, so contact our team before ordering if you need an electric or dual-fuel set-up and we will confirm the correct configuration.
Which valves do I need?
The installation guide calls for one lockshield valve and one manual (gate) or thermostatic valve. The angled Drayton TRV4 chrome pack is the easiest complete option, and the Reina Portland valves suit a manual set. Use straight valves if the pipes come from the wall.
Should I use a thermostatic valve on a towel rail?
A thermostatic valve closes once the bathroom reaches its set temperature, which reduces towel drying in a warm room. Manual valves keep the rail hot whenever the heating is running, so choose the valve that matches how you use the rail.
How much clearance does it need?
Mount it no lower than 100mm from the floor and no closer than 50mm below any overhanging surface. The rail projects 310mm from the wall.
How do I clean and look after it?
Wipe with a soft cloth and avoid chemical cleaners. Do not climb on or hang heavy loads from the rail. Keep the system water within pH 5.5 to 8.5, or treat it, to protect the radiator.
