The Victron EV Charging Station NS is a three-phase and single-phase AC charging station delivering up to 22 kW on three phases or 7.3 kW on a single phase, with a configurable output of 6 A to 32 A. It is technically identical to the original Victron EV Charging Station but with a modern, slimmer design and no built-in LCD screen.
Setup and monitoring are done wirelessly through VictronConnect over Bluetooth or the integrated web interface via a WiFi access point or your local network. When connected to a Victron GX device and the VRM portal, it can be controlled remotely and used with Automatic mode, which charges the car only from excess solar power before it is exported to the grid.
A fully programmable RGB light ring around the Type 2 charging port shows the charging status at a glance. The tough plastic enclosure is designed for harsh weather and can be mounted indoors or outdoors on a wall or pole. It ships with a blue front, and black or white fronts are available separately.

Installer Safety and Regulatory Requirements
Installation must be carried out by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with BS 7671, including Section 722 for EV charging equipment. Protect the AC input with a fuse or magnetic circuit breaker rated at 40 A or less, and fit an external RCD. Victron recommends a Type B RCD (40 A if charging mostly at 22 kW), subject to local legislation. The station must be connected to earth at all times or it will not allow charging. Recommended cable cross-section is 6 mm².
Charging Cable Not in the Box, and Automatic Mode Needs a GX Device
The manufacturer's box contents list a mounting plate, 28 mm nylon cable gland, Type 2 cable plug holder dummy socket and rubber plug. No charging cable is listed, so you will need a suitable Type 2 cable. Automatic mode requires a GX device in the system; Manual and Scheduled modes work without one. WiFi is 2.4 GHz only (802.11 b/g/n), and the station has no RFID.
Solar-Powered Charging
In Automatic mode charging starts when the car is connected and enough excess solar is available. The minimum is 6 A at 230 V, so more than 1.38 kW of excess solar power is needed. An optional setting tops up from the grid when solar is short, for example drawing 580 W from the grid to add to 800 W of excess solar and reach the 1380 W minimum.
Key Features
22 kW Three-Phase or 7.3 kW Single-Phase
Delivers up to 22 kW AC on three phases or 7.3 kW on a single phase at 32 A per phase, with maximum and minimum charging current each configurable between 6 A and 32 A.
Three Charging Modes
Manual for a set current from 6 A to 32 A, Automatic to charge from excess solar, and Scheduled with a fully programmable scheduler for cheaper overnight charging.
Victron GX and VRM Integration
Control and monitor from a GX device touch display, Remote Console and the VRM portal and VRM App, with real-time and custom reports, remote firmware updates and dashboard controls.
Programmable RGB Light Ring
A ring around the charging port shows disconnected, connected, charging, charged and other states, with 55 light effects, adjustable brightness and the option to turn it off at night.
Bluetooth, WiFi and Web Interface
Set up and control through VictronConnect, the built-in web page or Modbus TCP, with WiFi in access point or station mode. Enable the Modbus TCP IP whitelist for added security.
Overload Protection and Load Sharing
With a GX device, the station reduces charging current when the system inverter reports an overload, and multiple stations in one system share the available power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a charging cable included?
The manufacturer's box contents list does not include a charging cable. The station has a Type 2 connector and includes a Type 2 cable plug holder dummy socket, so you will need a suitable Type 2 charging cable for your vehicle.
Does it have RFID, and how do I stop unauthorised use?
There is no RFID. To prevent unauthorised use, disable EV charger autostart in the general settings. Charging can then only be started or stopped from the web interface, VRM App widget, VRM controls or VictronConnect.
Do I need a GX device?
Only for Automatic mode, which needs communication between a GX device and the charging station. Manual and Scheduled modes work stand-alone, although a GX device can still be installed.
How much solar do I need for Automatic mode?
The minimum EV charge current is 6 A at 230 V, so you need more than 1.3 kW of excess solar. Some vehicles need a higher minimum, for example 10 A for the Renault Zoe. An optional setting adds grid power to make up any shortfall.
Can I install more than one in the same system?
Yes. Multiple EV Charging Stations can be used in one system and the available power is shared between them.
What if the light ring bothers the neighbours at night?
The light ring can be dimmed or fully disabled in the Light Ring menu by setting the brightness to 0 or to a lower level.
