The TSS-160-TP is a 160mm diameter T-piece for the Verplas Rapid Self-Seal Thermal Ducting system, enabling a single main duct run to branch into two directions — or allowing two inlet runs to combine into one. It is the essential fitting for multi-point extract or supply ventilation layouts such as MVHR branch runs, dMEV installations serving multiple rooms, or solar air heating distribution. The body is fully insulated in Neopor® graphite-impregnated EPS, and the fitting ships complete with female Click & Lock connectors on the branch sockets.

System Design Note: When branching a main duct run with the TSS-160-TP, always account for the airflow split between the two branch legs in your ventilation design. Each branch will carry a proportion of the total flow — consult your system design tool or fan specification to balance accordingly.
Orientation: The T-piece can be installed horizontally or vertically. Ensure the branch port is supported adequately at the joint to avoid placing lever load on the EPS body.
Key Features
Three-Port Branching
Creates a 1-into-2 or 2-into-1 duct split within a fully insulated fitting — maintaining thermal protection at the most complex part of the duct layout.
Neopor® EPS Body
The complete T-piece, including the branch junction, is moulded from Neopor® graphite-impregnated EPS, preventing condensation at the branching point where uninsulated fittings are most vulnerable.
Female Click & Lock on Branch Sockets
Branch sockets feature integral female Self-Seal connectors that accept the male ends of TSS-160 duct lengths, creating airtight joints without tape or sealant.
Ideal for MVHR & dMEV Layouts
The T-piece is a core component of multi-room ventilation runs, allowing a main spine duct to branch to individual room extract or supply points.
System-Wide Compatibility
Mates precisely with all TSS-160 series duct lengths, bends, connectors, and adaptors for a coherent, fully-sealed system throughout.
Award-Winning Verplas Design

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the T-piece be used to combine two duct runs into one?
Yes. The TSS-160-TP is symmetrical and can function in either direction — splitting one run into two or combining two runs into one — depending on your installation design.
How do I balance the airflow at a T-piece split?
Airflow balance at a T-piece depends on the relative resistance of each branch. In a properly designed MVHR or dMEV system, branch lengths and fittings are calculated to achieve the required flow at each outlet. Balancing valves can also be used at the terminal to trim flow.
Does the T-piece maintain full insulation at the junction?
Yes. The Neopor® EPS body covers the complete junction including the branching point, ensuring no thermal bridge or condensation risk at the T-split itself.
What is the maximum airflow the T-piece can handle?
The TSS-160-TP is sized for standard domestic ventilation flows through a 160mm duct. Consult your fan or MVHR unit specification for maximum system flow rates appropriate to your installation.
Can I use the T-piece with 125mm duct on one branch?
No — all three ports are 160mm. To interface with a 125mm branch, a separate reducer fitting would be required at the relevant port.
