Description

The Vaillant VR 71 wiring centre (0020184847) is an eBUS system component that extends the capability of a Vaillant VRC 700 controller. It provides sensor inputs, relay outputs and mains connections for pumps, mixers and other system components, so a single controller can regulate more complex heating and hot water layouts.

The VR 71 has no controls of its own. Its inputs and outputs are assigned and configured through the VRC 700, which lets you build different system layouts from the same hardware. It is supplied with four VR 10 sensors and one VR 11, plus wall-mounting fixings, and is installed on the wall in a dry room.

The VR 71 is a system component, not a standalone controller. Per the manufacturer's installation instructions it is intended for operation with the Vaillant VRC 700, which controls and regulates its functions over eBUS.

Installation & safety

Installation must be carried out by a competent person. Isolate the supply using a partition with at least 3 mm contact opening and check the unit is de-energised before opening it. Connect with a fixed connection in line with BS 7671, install in dry rooms only, and use the supplied strain relief.

Sensors included

Four VR 10 sensors and one VR 11 are supplied in the box, so the common sensing points are covered without a separate order.

Extends the VRC 700

Adds inputs and outputs to the VRC 700 so it can manage more circuits, pumps and valves in the system.

eBUS communication

Connects to the controller over eBUS using a low-voltage line of at least 0.75 mm².

Flexible I/O assignment

Inputs and outputs are configured via the controller, so one unit suits many system diagrams.

Standard cabling

Wired with standard commercial lines; sensor lines up to 50 m and bus lines up to 125 m.
