The Vaillant ecoTEC plus 80 kW Commercial System Boiler (MPN 10010767) is a wall-hung commercial condensing system boiler delivering 14.9 - 74.7 kW at 80/60°C and 16.5 - 82.3 kW at 50/30°C from a single unit. It pairs a high-quality stainless steel heat exchanger with a fully modulating low NOx burner (NOx class 6, 35 mg/kWh), 96.9% net efficiency at 80/60°C, 107.7% at 30% load and 5 : 1 modulation.
Built for plant rooms, it is cascade ready: up to eight boilers can be combined on Vaillant cascade rigs, inline, back-to-back or around a corner, with the wider ecoTEC plus range scaling to 960 kW. Every component is accessible from the front, with a single electronics board and flue gas analysis point, and the boiler is 0-10 V compatible for BEMS applications using the VR 34 accessory.
A two-stage frost protection system and water pressure sensor support diagnostics, the boiler is ErP A rated (A+ with a class VI control such as the VRC 700), and a 5-year guarantee is included as standard. Each boiler is supplied with gas isolation, flow and return isolation valves and a pressure relief valve.

Above 70 kW net: flue and system separation rules apply
At 74.7 kW net output this boiler is above the 70 kW threshold. The flue must be designed to IGEM/UP/10 and BS 6644, including the risk assessment for terminal position, and Vaillant requires a plate heat exchanger on every ecoTEC plus 80, 100 and 120 kW boiler. Installation must be carried out by a competent Gas Safe registered engineer, with clean, inhibited system water maintained.
Required items that are not in the box
The pump group (0020175314) is required for each boiler and is sold separately. You also need a plate heat exchanger (the PHE S 120-70, 0010025676, suits a standalone installation), an appropriately sized expansion vessel, a 110/160 mm concentric flue and your chosen controls.
LPG operation
The boiler is suitable for natural gas and LPG, with conversion carried out by Vaillant Service (chargeable). On LPG the output range at 80/60°C is 37.4 - 74.7 kW, so the minimum output is higher than on natural gas (14.9 kW). Confirm suitability for your load profile before ordering.
What is supplied
ecoTEC plus 80 kW boiler with gas isolation valve, flow and return isolation valves and pressure relief valve. The pump group, flue, plate heat exchanger and controls are accessories.
Key Features
Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger
A high-quality stainless steel heat exchanger resists oxidation, seizing and corrosion and is easy to reach for future maintenance.
Fully Modulating Low NOx Burner
The fully modulating burner cuts NOx emissions to 35 mg/kWh (class 6), reducing environmental impact and matching output to demand.
Easy Front Access
All components are reached from the front, with a single circuit board and flue gas analysis point, keeping service visits quick.
Frost Protection and Pressure Sensor
An energy-saving two-stage frost protection system and pressure sensor monitor system pressure via diagnostics.
BEMS and Controls Ready
0-10 V compatible with the VR 34 accessory for building management systems. The VR 36 converter allows third-party 230 V on/off controls, and Vaillant eBUS controls such as the VRC 700 give weather and load compensation.
Cascade Up to 960 kW
Use Vaillant rigs to cascade 1 to 8 boilers inline or back-to-back, with the system modulating from 13 kW to 960 kW across the range. Each boiler in cascade needs a flue non-return flap valve.
Suitable For
Commercial Plant Rooms
A wall-to-wall wall-hung solution for commercial specifications where a floor-standing boiler is not wanted.
Cascade Installations
Modular plant built from several wall-hung boilers for resilience, expansion and wide turndown.
Systems With Older Pipework
Paired with a plate heat exchanger the boiler is protected from dirty or open-vented systems.
BMS-Controlled Buildings
0-10 V control integrates the boiler with a building management system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a plate heat exchanger?
Yes. Vaillant makes a plate heat exchanger mandatory on every ecoTEC plus 80, 100 and 120 kW boiler. It separates boiler water from system water, protects the boiler from debris and lets the boiler run pressurised on an older or open-vented system. For a standalone installation not using Vaillant cascade hydraulics, the PHE S 120-70 (0010025676) is the matching unit.
What is the pump group and do I need one?
The boiler does not include a circulation pump. The pump group (0020175314), which includes the pump and insulation, is required for each boiler and sold separately. It uses a high-efficiency pump (EEI ≥ 0.23) with a head of 600 mbar without a check valve (520 mbar with one).
What flue does it use and how long can it be?
It uses a 110/160 mm concentric flue: up to 22 m horizontal (including one 87° elbow) or 24 m vertical (including two 87° elbows). Each additional 87° elbow reduces this by 1.5 m and each 45° elbow by 1.0 m. Because the output exceeds 70 kW net, flue design must follow IGEM/UP/10 and BS 6644.
Can I cascade these boilers?
Yes. Vaillant rigs take 1 to 8 boilers inline or back-to-back, with DN65 hydraulics for smaller cascades and DN100 above 360 kW. Each boiler needs a 110 mm flue non-return flap valve (mechanical 0020207200 or motorised 0020177845; do not mix them in one array) and the cascade needs a matching plate heat exchanger.
Can it connect to a building management system?
Yes. The VR 34 adapter converts a 0-10 V BEMS signal into a boiler set point and provides a 24 V fault signal output. The VR 36 interface suits third-party 230 V on/off controls, and Vaillant eBUS controls such as the VRC 700 work with the boiler directly.
What guarantee does it have?
A 5-year guarantee comes as standard, subject to conditions and registration within 30 days. Vaillant rigs and accessories carry 2 years.
