The Tesla UK Towel Rail Heating Element range fits directly into a towel rail radiator to provide standalone electric heating, or to keep the rail warm during summer months when a central heating system connected via a wet (dual fuel) installation is switched off. Each element is IP64 rated, fitted with an integrated thermostat, and supplied complete with a 1/2" chrome tee piece, blanking plug, and chrome and white caps.
Five power outputs are available, from 150W up to 600W, to match the size and heat output required for different towel rail radiators. All models are BEAB approved and CE marked, with an integrated thermostat maintaining water temperature between 60°C and 65°C.
Please Note: These elements have a non-adjustable internal thermostat, providing a constant output of heat only. To regulate the heat output or add timer/boost functions, Tesla's optional TCP200 thermal control plate can be fitted separately (sold separately, not included).
Suitable for Wet & Electric-Only Installation
Each element works in a wet (dual fuel) installation connected to the central heating system, or as a standalone electric-only heat source when disconnected from the pipework.
Integrated Thermostat
A built-in, non-adjustable thermostat maintains water temperature between 60°C and 65°C, providing a consistent, constant level of heat output without requiring a separate control.
Complete Fitting Kit Included
Every element is supplied complete with a 1/2" chrome tee piece, chrome blanking plug, and chrome and white end caps, giving everything needed for a neat, finished installation.
IP64 Rated for Bathroom Use
Rated to IP64, providing protection against dust ingress and splashing water, suitable for typical bathroom towel rail installations.
BEAB Approved & CE Marked
Manufactured to current UK and European electrical safety standards, with full BEAB approval and CE marking.
Five Power Outputs to Match Rail Size
Available from 150W (TR11) up to 600W (TR27-6), allowing the correct output to be matched to the size of the towel rail radiator being heated.

Important Safety Information: This is a mains-voltage electrical heating product. It must never be switched on without water inside the towel rail, as this will damage the unit beyond repair and invalidate the warranty. This product should be fitted by a competent person who can ensure compliance with IEE wiring regulations, Part P and local authority regulations. The mains electrical circuit and fused spur must both be isolated before installation, and the appliance must be earthed. Take care that children, the elderly or infirm are not at risk of burns from the heated towel rail.
Can this element be used with my central heating system?
Yes — these elements are suitable for wet (dual fuel) installation, connected via the chrome tee piece to a central heating system, allowing electric heating when the central heating is off (e.g. in summer). It is not recommended to run the element while the central heating is also switched on.
Can this element be used as a standalone electric towel rail?
Yes, these elements are also suitable for electric-only installation in a towel rail that is not connected to the central heating system.
Can I adjust the temperature of the element?
The built-in thermostat is non-adjustable and provides a constant heat output between 60°C and 65°C. To regulate the output temperature, or add boost/timer functions, Tesla's optional TCP200 thermal control plate can be fitted separately.
Which way up should the element be fitted?
The element must always be installed into the bottom of the towel rail, never the top, for both wet and electric-only installations.
What happens if the element is switched on without water in the rail?
Switching the unit on without water inside the towel rail will damage the unit beyond repair and invalidate the warranty. Always check for leaks and confirm the rail is correctly filled before connecting to the mains supply.
What fuse rating does this element need?
The fused spur supplying the element should be fitted with at least a 5 amp fuse to the appropriate standard.
