The Telford Tempest 200L Slimline Indirect Heat Pump Cylinder (code TSMI200SL/HP) is a mains pressure unvented hot water cylinder designed to work with a heat pump as the main heat source. It is made from Duplex 2304 stainless steel with 316L stainless steel coils and 22mm compression fittings, and its 3.3 m² heat pump coil is sized for the lower flow temperatures that air and ground source heat pumps deliver, giving fast reheat.
At just 470mm in diameter and 1800mm tall, the slimline body suits installations where floor space is tight. Each cylinder ships with a factory-fitted 3 kW immersion heater for back-up heat, a full unvented kit, a remote expansion vessel with factory-fitted wall bracket and polyurethane foam insulation to keep heat loss low, and it carries a lifetime guarantee on the inner container.
Unvented cylinder installation
Unvented hot water cylinders fall under Building Regulations Part G3 and must be installed and commissioned by a suitably qualified, competent person, with the discharge pipework correctly run and terminated. The immersion heater must be wired by a competent person in line with BS 7671, and the supply isolated before any work on the cylinder.
3-port valve not included
This cylinder is supplied without a 3-port valve. A suitable motorised diverting valve must be ordered separately to control flow between the heating circuit and the cylinder coil. Keep the primary circuit within the 3 bar maximum primary pressure.
Water quality and warranty
The manufacturer's guarantee excludes the effects of scale build-up and installations on borehole or well water, and applies only to storage of water from the public mains supply. Register the cylinder with Telford after installation.
Included in the box
A full unvented component kit and a remote expansion vessel with factory-fitted wall mounting bracket are supplied with the cylinder.
Key features
Duplex stainless steel
The cylinder body is Duplex 2304 stainless steel, chosen for superior corrosion resistance, with 316L stainless steel fittings and coils.
Heat pump optimised coil
A 3.3 m² stainless steel coil with 1 inch female BSP flow and return connections transfers heat efficiently from a low-temperature primary circuit and supports fast reheat.
Slimline footprint
A 470mm diameter body at 1800mm high makes the cylinder ideal where space is an issue.
Mains pressure hot water
Supplies mains pressure hot water at high flow rates, with a 6 bar expansion relief valve and a 7 bar / 90 °C T&P relief valve as part of the unvented package.
3 kW back-up immersion
A factory-fitted 240 V, 3 kW immersion heater provides back-up heating, with a 22mm thermostat pocket on the body.
Insulated and guaranteed
Polyurethane foam insulation keeps standing heat loss down, the cylinder is WRAS approved, and the inner container carries a lifetime guarantee (2 years on components).

Frequently asked questions
Is a 3-port valve supplied with the cylinder?
No. The cylinder is supplied without a 3-port valve, so a suitable motorised diverting valve needs to be ordered separately.
What is included with the cylinder?
Each cylinder comes with a factory-fitted 3 kW immersion heater, a full unvented component kit and a remote expansion vessel with factory-fitted wall mounting bracket.
Is this cylinder suitable for heat pumps?
Yes. It is an indirect cylinder designed for a heat pump as the main heat source, with a 3.3 m² coil and 1 inch female BSP flow and return connections. Keep the primary side within the 3 bar maximum primary pressure.
Who can install an unvented cylinder?
Unvented cylinders must be installed and commissioned by a competent person in line with Building Regulations Part G3, and the manufacturer's guarantee depends on installation and maintenance following the installation instructions.
What warranty does it have?
The stainless steel cylinder carries a lifetime guarantee against faulty manufacture or materials, and the immersion heater, valves, thermostat and expansion vessel are covered for 2 years. Register the cylinder with Telford after installation, and note the exclusions for scale and borehole or well water.
