The Solis RHI-6K-48ES-5G is a 6kW single-phase, DC-coupled hybrid inverter from the Solis 5G energy storage range, combining solar generation, battery storage, and backup power in one unit. Unlike an AC-coupled retrofit, this inverter sits directly in the DC path between the PV array and the battery, making it suited to new-build systems or full system replacements rather than adding storage to an existing third-party PV inverter. It's compatible with both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries across a wide 42-58V voltage range, and pairs this with an uninterrupted power supply function that switches to backup in under 20 milliseconds during a grid outage, keeping critical loads such as lighting, fridges, or WiFi running without a noticeable interruption. Six working modes, peak shaving, and a fanless natural-convection design round out a unit intended to maximise self-consumption while minimising maintenance needs.
Sub-20ms Backup Switching
The inverter's backup circuit detects a grid loss and switches connected loads to battery power in under 20 milliseconds, fast enough that most household electronics carry on running without rebooting or losing state.
Dual Battery Chemistry Support
Compatibility with both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries across a wide 42-58V range and up to 2000Ah capacity gives installers flexibility to size a system around budget or existing battery stock rather than being locked to one chemistry.
Dual MPPT Tracking
Two independent MPPT trackers across a 90-520V range let the array be split across roof faces or shading conditions while each string is optimised separately, improving harvest on complex roof layouts.
Fanless, Natural-Convection Cooling
A fanless design cools the unit purely by natural convection, removing a common failure and maintenance point in inverters that rely on forced-air fans, and keeping operation silent.
Remote Monitoring & Upgrades
Built-in monitoring reports real-time plant status, and firmware can be upgraded remotely, so routine maintenance and troubleshooting can often be handled without an on-site visit.
Peak Shaving & Multiple Work Modes
