Description

The SolaX X1-Matebox G2 is a pre-wired backup and distribution box that simplifies a whole-home backup installation with single-phase SolaX systems. All the internal wiring is done and neatly sorted, so the installer only has to connect the cables, saving time and money on site.

It ties together the grid, PV, inverter, EPS backup loads and optional smart loads such as a heat pump or SolaX EV charger. With IP65 protection, 8,000VA inverter capacity and support for up to 63A grid input (100A in the UK), it suits a wide range of homes.

Important Safety Information

Installation must be completed by a qualified electrician to BS 7671 and Part P. Any backup or EPS arrangement affects earthing and protection, and generation connections require G98/G99 notification to the DNO.

Pre-Wired for Speed

What does the Matebox do?

It provides a pre-wired, ready-to-connect distribution and backup box so the grid, inverter, EPS backup loads and other equipment can be connected without complicated on-site wiring.

Is this for single-phase or three-phase?

This is the X1 (single-phase) version. Three-phase systems use the X3-Matebox G2.

What is the maximum current?

Grid and load connections are rated up to 63A, and 100A for England. The inverter side is rated 36.4A and 8,000VA.

Can I fit it outdoors?

It is IP65 rated with an operating range of -25 to 60°C, derating above 45°C. Follow the installation guide for mounting position and clearances.

Can I connect a heat pump or EV charger?

Yes. The Matebox G2 layout shows connections for a heat pump and a SolaX EV charger alongside EPS loads.
