The SolaX Wi-BR Wireless Bridge removes the need for physical communication cabling between a SolaX inverter and its energy meter, replacing an RS485 cable run with a stable long-range wireless link. Built on the low-power, long-range IEEE 802.11ah protocol, it maintains reliable data transmission up to 200 metres in open, unobstructed conditions and can push a signal through up to four floors or 120cm of reinforced concrete (roughly 30 metres vertically), making it a practical fix for inverters and meters that sit too far apart — or on different floors — for a cable to be routed easily.
Working in AP/STA mode and compatible with both single-phase and three-phase meters, the Wi-BR slots into SolaX hybrid and grid-tie systems to keep export limitation, real-time monitoring, and SolaX Cloud data access running without a dedicated data cable. It mounts on a standard DIN rail inside the consumer unit or inverter cabinet, drawing power directly from an 85–277V AC supply, and is built for a 2W standby draw so it can stay powered permanently alongside the rest of the installation's control gear.

Best suited to: installations where the inverter and meter are separated by distance, floors, or thick masonry that would make a physical RS485 run impractical — extensions, outbuildings, multi-storey properties, and retrofits where cable access is limited.
Cable-Free Installation
Eliminates the need to run a physical RS485 cable between inverter and meter, cutting installation time and avoiding disruptive cable routes through walls or floors.
Long-Range, Low-Power Protocol
Uses IEEE 802.11ah, purpose-built for long-range, low-power wireless communication — far more robust over distance than standard Wi-Fi.
Strong Wall Penetration
Maintains a reliable link through up to four floors or 120cm of reinforced concrete, with strong anti-interference performance in busy RF environments.
Universal Meter Compatibility
Works with both single-phase and three-phase energy meters, so one accessory covers domestic and small commercial SolaX installations alike.
Compact DIN-Rail Design
At just 18mm wide, it sits neatly on a standard DIN rail inside the consumer unit or inverter enclosure without crowding other components.
Full System Visibility
Keeps SolaX Cloud monitoring, export limitation, and real-time energy data flowing reliably, even where a wired connection isn't practical.

Does the Wi-BR replace the inverter's built-in Wi-Fi dongle?
No. The Wi-BR is specifically a bridge between the inverter and the energy meter, replacing the RS485 meter cable with a wireless link. It doesn't provide internet connectivity for the inverter itself — that's handled separately by the inverter's own Wi-Fi, LAN, or 4G dongle.
Do I need one Wi-BR unit or two for a wireless link?
A wireless bridge link requires two Wi-BR units — one paired with the inverter's RS485 port and one paired with the meter's RS485 port, communicating with each other over the air. Each product listing is for a single unit.
Will the 200m range hold up in a typical UK house?
The 200m figure applies to open, unobstructed space. Indoors, walls and floors reduce range, though the Wi-BR is rated to maintain a link through up to 4 floors or 120cm of reinforced concrete — more than enough for the vast majority of domestic and light commercial installations.
Is it compatible with any SolaX inverter?
The Wi-BR is designed for SolaX inverters that support an external RS485 meter connection. Check your specific inverter model's manual to confirm RS485 meter input is available before ordering.
Does it need its own power supply?
Yes. The Wi-BR draws its own AC supply (85–277V AC, 2W max) via its DIN-rail connection — it isn't powered over the RS485 line, so a live/neutral feed needs to be available at the mounting point.
