The SolaX Smart EV Charger G2 X3-HAC-11K is a three-phase, 11kW tethered electric vehicle charger with a fixed Type 2 charging cable, so there is no separate lead to carry, lose or forget. It is built to work with solar: in Green mode it charges from surplus PV that would otherwise be exported, and it links directly to a SolaX inverter for zero-export and self-consumption setups.
It offers automatic single- and three-phase switching, dynamic load balancing to protect your main fuse, integrated AC 30mA and DC 6mA leakage protection and RFID, NFC and app authentication. With Wi-Fi, Ethernet and optional 4G, OCPP 1.6J and Modbus TCP/RTU, it slots into home energy systems and small commercial sites alike.

Important Safety Information
EV charger installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671 (including Section 722) and the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021. Notify your DNO as required under G98/G99 where connected to a generation system.
Please Note
This page covers the tethered model. Charging power is adjustable from 1.4kW to 11kW in the app. The unit has no MID meter built in (an external MID meter is optional), so do not use it where a MID-certified billing meter is required unless you add one.
Solar Surplus Charging
Green, Eco and Fast modes let you charge purely from PV surplus, at a fixed rate, or at maximum speed. Works with SolaX inverters and, via meter or CT, alongside other systems.
Automatic Phase Switching
Switches between single-phase and three-phase charging automatically so charging can start on low solar surplus and ramp up as generation rises.
Built-in Protection

What is the difference between tethered and socketed?
A tethered charger like this one has a fixed Type 2 cable permanently attached, so you simply plug the connector into your car. A socketed model has a Type 2 socket and you supply your own cable.
Can it charge from solar only?
Yes. In Green mode the charger uses surplus PV generation. It needs to be linked to a SolaX inverter, or to a compatible meter, so it knows how much surplus is available.
Does it work on single-phase supplies?
This is a three-phase 11kW model with automatic phase switching, with output current of 6 to 16A on one or three phases. For a purely single-phase property, SolaX also makes single-phase models in the X1-HAC range.
Do I need a Datahub?
Not for a single charger. The SolaX Datahub is only needed if you want to manage several chargers together, for example on a commercial site, where up to 60 units can be balanced in parallel.
How is access controlled?
Using RFID cards, NFC or the SolaX app. You can also enable plug and charge for open access and lock the charging plug once connected.
