The SolarEdge Home Backup Interface (single-phase, model BI-NEUNU-1P-01) automatically provides backup power to household loads whenever the grid goes down. Paired with a SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter and SolarEdge Home Battery, it forms the switching heart of a residential backup system, giving homeowners the flexibility to keep either the entire home or a selection of essential circuits running through a power cut.
Beyond backup switching, the unit includes an integrated energy meter for import/export monitoring, connects to the inverter over RS485, and is built as a scalable platform designed to support higher power and higher capacity configurations as a system grows. It carries a weatherproof IP65 rating for indoor or outdoor installation and is backed by a 12-year manufacturer warranty.

The BI-NEUNU-1P-01 is designed exclusively for use with the SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter - Single Phase. It is not a standalone backup device and must be commissioned as part of a matched SolarEdge inverter and battery system.
Qualified Installer Required
This is an electrical switching device operating at mains voltage and current up to 100 A. Installation, wiring and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician following the manufacturer's installation manual and current UK wiring regulations.
Supported Grid Topologies
The interface supports TT, TN-S and TN-C-S earthing arrangements. For any other grid topology, SolarEdge support should be consulted before installation to confirm compatibility.
