The SolarEdge SE8000H Home-Wave Inverter is an 8000W single-phase string inverter designed to work exclusively with SolarEdge Power Optimisers, moving all module-level MPPT and voltage management out to the roof and leaving the inverter to handle DC-to-AC conversion only. This is the foundation of SolarEdge's HD-Wave technology, which replaces heavy transformers and electrolytic capacitors with compact, reliable thin-film components, giving a smaller, lighter unit with class-leading conversion efficiency.
This is the SetApp-configured, screenless version of the inverter — commissioning, monitoring setup and firmware updates are all handled through the SolarEdge SetApp mobile application via the inverter's built-in Wi-Fi access point, rather than an on-unit LCD screen. It is built for larger single-phase residential and small commercial systems, supporting DC oversizing up to 12,400W against its 8000W AC rating, with optional Wi-Fi, ZigBee and cellular connectivity for remote monitoring.

This inverter is not compatible with standard PV strings — it must be paired with SolarEdge Power Optimisers on every module. The optimisers perform individual module-level MPPT and voltage fixing, which is what allows the inverter itself to use SolarEdge's smaller, lighter HD-Wave power conversion architecture.
SetApp Version — No Plug-In Communication Slot
This screenless SetApp variant of the Home-Wave inverter does not include the additional plug-in slot for the SolarEdge Home Network / E-Net card or ZigBee/cellular modules that is present on the standard ('Net') version. Optional wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, cellular) on this model is built in rather than added via plug-in card. Does this inverter work without SolarEdge Power Optimisers?
No. This inverter is designed exclusively for use with SolarEdge Power Optimisers fitted to every module in the array. It will not function as a standard string inverter.
