The Sigenergy SigenStack BC M2-1C-BST is the battery controller for 1C SigenStack systems, with an integrated DC-DC boost converter module (BC-BST). It sits on top of the Main stack and links the SigenStack BAT 12.0 battery modules to the Sigen C&I Hybrid Inverter, handling battery charge and discharge control and CAN communication with the inverter.
Rated for 314 A nominal battery current and a wide 550 to 1,100 V operating range, it supports 4 to 21 modules per system. The BST version is the controller Sigenergy specifies for PV-connected systems and most scenarios beyond simple on-grid storage, and the IP66-rated enclosure suits indoor or outdoor sites.

Good to Know
Why BST? Sigenergy states the non-BST controller only suits on-grid systems with 20 or more modules under 380/400 V grid voltage and no PV; other scenarios need the BST model. The installation guide also lists BC-BST where the AC line voltage is above 400 V, for PV and storage wiring, and for pure storage systems connected to Sigen HYA (with 19 or fewer battery modules) or HYB series inverters.
Please Note
Controller only. It mounts on the Base MAIN-1C (11180006) and needs BAT 12.0 modules and a compatible Sigen C&I Hybrid Inverter, all supplied separately. Sigenergy specifies this 1C controller with 1C bases, so keep all components in the same rate class.
Important Safety Information
SigenStack is heavy, high-voltage DC equipment (operating range up to 1,100 V; each BAT 12.0 module weighs 105 kg). It must be installed and commissioned by a competent, qualified electrician in line with BS 7671, the Sigenergy installation guide and local building and fire-protection requirements (Sigenergy references NFPA 855). The installation guide requires a level, solid, non-combustible surface with sufficient load-bearing capacity, and a lifting plan prepared for the modules. Do not use a battery module that has been dropped.
Key Features
Integrated boost converter
The DC-DC BC-BST boost module is built in, enabling DC-coupled PV + ESS systems without a separate converter.
1C high-rate operation
Rated at 314 A nominal battery charge and discharge current for 1C high-rate commercial storage.
Wide voltage range
Operates across 550 to 1,100 V and passes up to 180 A to and from the inverter.
Scalable from 4 to 21 modules
Manages 4 to 21 BAT 12.0 modules per system, from 48.24 kWh up to 253 kWh, using Main and Sub stacks.
CAN communication
Talks to the Sigen C&I Hybrid Inverter over CAN, with real-time monitoring through Sigen Cloud and commissioning via the mySigen app.
Robust and serviceable
IP66 enclosure, Smart Air Cooling, an onboard disconnecting switch and power button, at just 60 kg for the controller unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does BST mean?
BST denotes the integrated DC-DC boost converter module. Sigenergy states the non-BST controller is only for on-grid systems with 20 or more modules under 380/400 V and no PV; for other scenarios use the BST model.
How many battery modules can it control?
A SigenStack system supports 4 to 21 BAT 12.0 modules (up to 253 kWh). Each Main or Sub stack holds up to 7 modules.
Which inverters does it work with?
It is designed for the Sigen C&I Hybrid Inverter series and communicates over CAN.
What does it mount on?
It fits on the SigenStack Base MAIN-1C (11180006) at the top of the Main stack. Sub stacks use Base SUB-1C (11180007) with a SigenStack Cover instead.
What cabling does the installer need to supply?
Sigenergy specifies outdoor single-core copper power cable of 50 to 70 mm² (11 to 22 mm outer diameter) between the inverter and controller, plus a PE cable of at least 25 mm² for the Base MAIN. The signal cable connects the controller to the inverter.
Do UK installations need DNO approval?
Commercial solar and storage systems of this size are normally connected under Engineering Recommendation G99, so the installer should speak to the DNO before installing and check the requirements for the chosen Sigen inverter.
