The Sigen Sensor TP-RC1000 is a three-phase power sensor with Rogowski coils from Sigenergy, supplied with three split-core coils rated up to 1000 A each. Fitted at the grid connection point, it measures import and export power and passes the readings to your Sigenergy system over RS485 (Modbus RTU), so the system can manage self-consumption and export limiting with real data.
Because the coils are split-core and flexible, they wrap around busbars and large cables without disconnecting the conductor, which makes the TP-RC1000 a practical choice for retrofits, switchboards and commercial or industrial incomers where conventional solid-core CTs will not fit. It delivers Class B energy measurement precision, a 50 ms data refresh for fast anti-backflow control, and a compact 18 mm DIN rail housing.

Safety and installation
Installation must be carried out by a competent electrician in accordance with BS 7671. Incorrect wiring can cause electric shock, damage to the sensor or fire. The auxiliary supply must be taken from the sensor's voltage sampling circuit and protected with a fuse, and the earth connection must be secure before powering on.
Compatibility and coil selection
The TP-RC1000 is the 1000 A Rogowski coil version of the Sigen Power Sensor range and is a different type from the solid-core CT sensors. Choose the coil rating to suit your incoming supply (the range also covers 300 A and 3000 A) and confirm that your Sigenergy system supports this sensor model before ordering.
Supply systems
Designed for three-phase four-wire (3P4W) connection. The manufacturer's guide lists TN-C, TN-S and TT supply arrangements as suitable, and the sensor and its power supply must be wired strictly according to the wiring diagram for the earthing system in use.
Key features
Split-core Rogowski coils
Three coils supplied with 6 m cables, one per phase. The split-core design allows compact retrofitting on irregular busbars without removing the conductor.
1000 A coil rating
Coils are rated for a maximum operating current of 1000 A. The platform scales across 300 / 1000 / 3000 A ranges for installations from 0.2 MVA to 2 MVA.
Class B precision
Industrial-grade Class B energy measurement with 0.5% voltage and current accuracy and 1% power accuracy for reliable import and export data.
Fast 50 ms refresh
A 50 ms data refresh supports robust anti-backflow control, so the system reacts quickly when export limits apply.
Overcurrent resilient
High overcurrent resilience with negligible signal distortion and an ultra-wide frequency response from 30 Hz to 5 kHz.
Compact DIN rail unit
Only 18 mm wide and mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail, with RS485 Modbus RTU communication and status LEDs for power, pulse and communication.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Sigen Sensor TP-RC1000 do?
It is a three-phase power sensor that measures the power flowing at your grid connection using Rogowski coils and sends the data to your Sigenergy system over RS485 Modbus RTU. The system uses this to monitor import and export and to apply export limiting.
What does the 1000 in TP-RC1000 mean?
It is the rating of the supplied coils: each coil has a maximum operating current of 1000 A. Lower and higher versions exist with 300 A and 3000 A coils, so choose the one that suits the size of your incoming supply.
Where should the Rogowski coils be fitted?
Fit one coil per phase and secure each with a cable tie. Choose a position where conductor spacing is greater than about 10 cm, and keep clear of bends, joints and terminals where the magnetic field is uneven. Never pass several phase conductors or several branch circuits through one coil, and do not force, over-bend or pull the coil cables.
Can I extend the cable between the sensor and the system?
The manufacturer's installation guide states the RJ12 lead to the sensor is 1 m long and can be extended with up to 9 m of additional cable, giving a total length of no more than 10 m.
What should I check if RS485 communication fails?
Check the cable for breaks, short circuits or reversed connections, and make sure the address, baud rate and parity settings match your Sigenergy system. On runs over 150 m, reduce the baud rate or add a 120 ohm resistor at each end of the cable. Holding the arrow button for 10 seconds restores the Modbus address to its default of 1 and the Fn LED lights purple for 1 second.
Which supply systems can it be used on?
It is designed for 3P4W connection and the manufacturer lists TN-C, TN-S and TT systems as suitable. Wire it strictly according to the diagram for your earthing arrangement and connect the sensor and its power supply to the correct neutral or PEN conductor.
