The Reina Albano is a vertical aluminium designer radiator built around a slim, square-tubed column profile that reads as a genuine architectural feature rather than a bolted-on heat emitter. Standing at a fixed 1800mm height, it is offered in six widths from 190mm to 590mm and four finishes, so the same platform scales from a narrow hallway or WC to a full feature wall in an open-plan living space.
Because it is aluminium rather than steel, the Albano carries a genuinely low water content and correspondingly fast heat-up and cool-down times, which keeps the radiator responsive to thermostatic control and reduces the energy spent bringing the system up to temperature after every setback. This low thermal mass also makes it a strong match for renewable heat sources — the lower flow temperatures typical of a heat pump still produce a usable, quick-responding output, and the reduced water volume is one less factor to size for on a low-temperature system.
Every version in the range ships as a complete central heating radiator with a manual air vent and blanking plug pre-fitted, a full wall-fixing kit (brackets, screws, wall plugs and buffers), and Reina's 5-year manufacturer guarantee. Valves are sold separately — see the recommended valve options below — and the radiator connects via standard 1/2" BSP female side connections, so it drops into a standard two-pipe central heating layout without adapters.

Good to Know
Manufacturer outputs are quoted at both ΔT60°C (standard boiler-led sizing) and ΔT50°C. On heat pump or other low-flow-temperature systems, size against the ΔT50°C figures in the variant table below, as this more realistically reflects the lower flow and return temperatures those systems run at.
Slim vertical column design
Square-tubed, angular profile designed as a wall feature in its own right — suits hallways, stairwells, bathrooms and living spaces where a horizontal radiator would eat into usable wall space.
Lightweight aluminium construction
Aluminium is lighter and more thermally responsive than steel, giving faster heat-up times, quicker reaction to thermostatic valves, and a genuinely low water content across the whole range.
Renewable-ready performance
The low water content and fast response make the Albano a good fit for heat pump and other renewable-led systems running at reduced flow temperatures, where quick reaction to load changes matters more than raw thermal mass.
Four finishes, six widths
Available in White, Anthracite, Silver and Brass effect across widths from 190mm to 590mm, all sharing a fixed 1800mm height — one design language scales from narrow spaces to feature walls.
Complete fixing kit included
Every radiator is supplied with wall brackets (x4), screws, wall plugs and buffers (x8), plus a pre-fitted manual air vent and blanking plug — ready to hang and connect.
Recycled aluminium content
Aluminium construction supports a lower embodied carbon footprint than steel equivalents and is fully recyclable at end of life, aligning with the wider push toward lower-carbon heating specification.
Important Safety Information
This radiator is aluminium and must only be used with a non-nitrate-based corrosion inhibitor (Reina recommends Fernox F1 or equivalent) added to the system water, with a pH maintained between 6.5 and 7.5. Do not use softened water. Using the wrong inhibitor, or none at all, can cause irreparable internal corrosion and will affect the 5-year guarantee.

Recommended Valves
The Albano is supplied without valves, so a suitable pair of radiator valves (valve + lockshield) needs to be ordered alongside it. Two well-matched options for this range:
Please Note
Radiator valves are not included with any Albano SKU and must be purchased separately. Match the valve finish to the radiator colour where a colour-matched option exists (Anthracite valves for Anthracite radiators, for example) for a consistent finished look.
Reina Modal TRV – designer match
A 15mm BSP thermostatic valve and lockshield designed to visually match Reina's own radiator ranges, available in angled, straight and corner configurations with chrome, black, bronze and anthracite finishes. Rated to 10 bar with a 7–28°C control range, bi-directional valve body, and positive shut-off for isolating the radiator during maintenance.
Drayton TRV4 – proven performance
A widely specified 15mm x 1/2" thermostatic valve with liquid-filled sensing head, offered in angled and straight patterns with a valve-and-lockshield pack. Rated to 10 bar with a 10–30°C control range and frost protection setting, and available in white/chrome, chrome and anthracite finishes to suit the radiator colour chosen.
What size Albano radiator do I need?
Match the ΔT50°C or ΔT60°C output to a room-by-room heat loss calculation rather than guessing by wall space alone. All six widths share the same 1800mm height, so choose the width that delivers the required output for the available wall run — the variant table above lists watts and BTU for every SKU.
Do I need to buy valves separately?
Yes. The Albano is supplied without valves. Both the Reina Modal TRV and the Drayton TRV4 are 15mm/½" thermostatic valve-and-lockshield sets rated to 10 bar that suit this radiator — see the recommended valves section above for finish and control-range differences.
Can this radiator be used with a heat pump?
Yes. Its low water content and aluminium construction give a fast response to lower flow temperatures, and it is a commonly specified emitter on heat pump retrofits. Always size it against the ΔT50°C output figures for realistic heat pump flow/return conditions, not the ΔT60°C figures.
What inhibitor should be used with an aluminium radiator?
A non-nitrate-based inhibitor formulated for aluminium, such as Fernox F1 or an equivalent product, with system water pH kept between 6.5 and 7.5. Standard nitrate-based inhibitors and softened water should not be used, as both can cause corrosion in aluminium radiators.
Does the pipe centre measurement include the valves?
No. The pipe centres quoted (equal to the radiator width) are measured radiator-to-radiator. Add approximately 90mm to the pipe centre figure if you need the overall dimension including a typical pair of angled valves.
Is the Albano suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, subject to UK Bathroom Zone requirements for any electrical fittings nearby — the radiator itself runs on central heating water only and carries no electrical connection, but any valve or accessory selection should still respect the room's zoning if towel-rail-style accessories are added.
