The Panasonic CZ-NS4P is the Optional PCB that unlocks a range of advanced system functions on Aquarea heat pumps — from two-zone heating control to pool heating, buffer tank management, solar integration and Smart Grid readiness. It fits directly onto the indoor unit's main control board, extending what a standard installation can do without needing a separate control cabinet.

Installation
One board, multiple advanced functions
The CZ-NS4P is a single accessory unlocking several enhanced functions at once — you don't need separate boards for two-zone control, buffer tank management and Smart Grid readiness.
Disables some standard inputs when fitted
Once the CZ-NS4P is installed, the main PCB's built-in room sensor 1 input and extra pump control contacts are disabled — those functions are handled through the Optional PCB instead. Factor this into your system wiring design.
Functions enabled
Two-zone control
Manage two independent heating zones — for example underfloor heating and radiators — each with its own water sensor, room sensor and pump control.
Buffer tank control
Adds buffer tank temperature monitoring and control logic, supporting hydraulic buffer configurations on more complex system designs.
Solar integration
Connects a solar thermal sensor and pump, allowing the Aquarea system to work alongside a solar hot water contribution.
Pool heating control
Adds a dedicated pool water pump and sensor connection, letting the heat pump contribute to swimming pool heating alongside space heating and DHW.
Demand control & SG Ready
Supports an external 0–10V demand signal and Smart Grid (SG Ready) inputs — the system can respond to external load or tariff signals, including boosting setpoints when on-site PV generation is available.
External switching and error signalling
Adds external error signal output, an external compressor stop switch, and an external heat/cool switch-over input — useful for BMS or bespoke control integration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this board for a standard single-zone install?
No — a straightforward single-zone system with a standard DHW cylinder doesn't need the CZ-NS4P. It's specifically for installations needing enhanced functions such as two-zone control, pool heating, solar integration, or Smart Grid readiness.
What sensors do I need alongside this board?
It depends which functions you're enabling. For two-zone control, you'll typically need PAW-A2W-TSHC zone water sensors (one per zone). For buffer tank or solar integration, you'll need the corresponding PAW-A2W-TSBU or PAW-A2W-TSSO sensors.
Does fitting this board disable anything on the standard system?
Yes — once installed, the Main PCB's room sensor 1 input and extra pump control contacts are disabled, since those functions move to the Optional PCB. Your installer should account for this in the wiring design.
Is this compatible with my Aquarea generation?
The CZ-NS4P is specified for H Generation Aquarea systems. Confirm compatibility with your specific model — send us your outdoor or indoor unit code and we'll verify before you order.
Can this be used for Smart Grid / SG Ready integration?
Yes — the board supports SG Ready signal inputs, allowing the system to increase heating or DHW setpoints in response to available on-site solar PV generation or favourable grid signals.
