The Panasonic Aquarea J Generation is Panasonic's High Performance R32 monobloc range for UK residential retrofit and new-build properties. Available in three nameplate capacities — 5, 7 and 9 kW — all single-phase, delivering up to 60°C hydraulic output temperature and A+++ seasonal efficiency at 35°C. Why delivered capacity matters
A heat pump's nameplate kW is measured at a mild reference condition (A+7°C / W35°C). As outside temperature drops and the flow temperature your radiators need goes up, the delivered capacity falls — this is normal heat pump behaviour, not a fault. The A-3°C / W45°C column above gives a more realistic mid-winter figure for UK sizing decisions. Always confirm final sizing against a full heat loss survey at your local design temperature.

Why does the 7kW and 9kW deliver less than nameplate at A-3°C / W45°C?
Nameplate kW is measured at a mild reference condition (A+7°C / W35°C). At the colder, higher-flow condition of A-3°C / W45°C — closer to a typical UK winter day with radiators calling for more heat — delivered capacity naturally falls. This is expected heat pump behaviour and is factored into proper system sizing, not a defect.
Does this need a separate Wi-Fi module?
Yes — the CZ-TAW1C or CZ-TAW2 Wi-Fi adapter is sold separately for full Aquarea Smart Cloud or Comfort Cloud app access. The unit ships with a standard wired remote controller.
Will my existing radiators be enough?
The J Generation reaches 60°C flow temperature, which covers many UK retrofit radiator setups. A heat loss survey identifies whether any rooms need radiator uprating.
Do I need to be MCS-registered to install this?
