Description

The PAC-TH011TK2-E is the cylinder-side DHW temperature sensor used when pairing a Mitsubishi Ecodan with a third-party hot water cylinder. It allows the FTC7 controller to read tank temperature accurately for DHW heat-up cycles and Legionella protection sequencing.

This sensor is required on any Ecodan install where the cylinder is not a Mitsubishi pre-plumbed FTC7 unit. The pre-plumbed cylinders include their own integral DHW sensing.

Most third-party cylinders include sensor pockets at the middle and lower thirds of the tank — fit the PAC-TH011TK2-E in whichever pocket matches the FTC7's expected sensing location, typically the lower-middle pocket for heat pump operation.

What if my cylinder doesn't have a pocket?

Some older cylinders use strap-on sensors only. Mitsubishi don't recommend strap-on for DHW sensing — accuracy is insufficient for proper legionella cycling. If your cylinder has no pocket, consider replacing with an FTC7 pre-plumbed cylinder instead.
