The Conex Bänninger MaxiPro straight coupler joins two lengths of copper tube with a flame-free press joint, so there is no brazing, no hot work permit and no nitrogen purge. It is made from refrigerant-grade copper with an HNBR O-ring and a 3-point press that forms a permanent, leak-tight joint on air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump refrigerant pipework.

Conex Bänninger states MaxiPro fittings must be installed by an installer who is trained and qualified to work on air conditioning and refrigeration installations and certified through the MaxiPro training course. The 10-year guarantee applies only to certified installers.

Do I need a special press tool?
Yes. MaxiPro fittings must be pressed with an approved press tool and MaxiPro jaws. For inch sizes up to 1 1/8" a 19 kN press tool is suitable.
Can I press the fitting twice if the first press leaks?
No. A MaxiPro fitting must only be pressed once. If a pressed fitting leaks, cut it out and replace it. Do not braze a leaking pressed fitting.
Is it suitable for R32?
Yes, R32 is on the compatible refrigerant list. R32 is an A2L lower-flammability refrigerant, so additional or specific standards, local rules and codes of practice may apply.
Can I use it with soft copper coil?
Yes. MaxiPro works with annealed coil, half-hard and hard tube to EN 12735-1, EN 12735-2 or ASTM B280. Keep coil tube round and check the MaxiPro tube compatibility tables for wall thickness.
Can I use it on heating or hot water pipework?
No. MaxiPro is approved for air conditioning and refrigeration only, and is not approved for heating and hot water, drinking water or medical gas.
How close can I braze to a pressed joint?
Brazing near a pressed joint can damage the O-ring seal. Keep at least 250 mm for 1/4", 300 mm for 3/8", 350 mm for 1/2", 450 mm for 5/8" and 500 mm for 3/4", or use a heat barrier.
