The Lawton ACR copper straight coupling (C x C) joins two lengths of refrigeration-grade copper tube with a brazed capillary joint. It is a seamless, one-piece fitting made to ASME B16.22, which makes it strong and easy to use, and it is cleaned for air conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) service.
Use it to repair or extend soft copper coil on split air conditioning pipework, or wherever two tube ends need a permanent brazed connection. Available in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" sizes, with working pressures of 90 to 150 bar up to 100 °C and compatibility with R32, R410A and other common refrigerants.

⚠ F-Gas certified engineers only
Brazing and pressure testing on refrigerant pipework must be carried out by suitably F-Gas certified engineers. Flow oxygen-free nitrogen through the pipe while brazing.
⚠ Brazed fittings are not for pressing
These are capillary fittings for brazing. They are not interchangeable with MaxiPro press fittings, and brazing close to an existing pressed joint can damage its seal.

Lawton part codes are RFCP14 (1/4"), RFCP38 (3/8"), RFCP12 (1/2"), RFCP58 (5/8") and RFCP34 (3/4").
Key features
🧱
Seamless one-piece
Seamless, one-piece construction makes the fitting stronger and easier to use than fabricated joints.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this and a MaxiPro press coupler?
This is a capillary fitting joined by brazing, using heat and filler alloy. A MaxiPro coupler is a mechanical press fitting made with a press tool and needs no flame or nitrogen purge.
Which tube does it fit?
It fits ACR copper tube of the same nominal outside diameter, such as 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" ACR tube to EN 12735-1.
Do I need nitrogen when brazing?
Yes. Purge the pipe with oxygen-free nitrogen while brazing to prevent oxide scale forming inside the tube.
Is it suitable for R32 and R410A?
Lawton lists R32, R410A, R134a, R404A, R407C, R407F, R1234yf, R1234ze and R744 among the refrigerants its ACR fittings suit. Always check the system design pressure and unit manufacturer's instructions.
Does it meet pressure equipment requirements?
Lawton describes its ACR capillary fittings as compliant components for assemblies subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive.
