The Lawton 9 mm pre-insulated copper pair coil is a 20 m twin coil of soft ACR copper tube with factory-fitted insulation, made for connecting single and multi split air conditioning indoor and outdoor units. The liquid and gas lines come ready-lagged together, so there is no glue, tape or messy powder and Lawton states installation takes less than half the time of conventional methods.
The insulation is 9 mm closed-cell nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) foam rated Class 0 for UK fire regulations, wrapped around ACR copper tube to EN 12735-1 in a soft temper that bends by hand. Choose from four pairings: 1/4" + 3/8", 1/4" + 1/2", 1/4" + 5/8" and 3/8" + 5/8" to match your unit's liquid and gas pipe sizes.

⚠ F-Gas certified engineers only
Installation, brazing, pressure testing and commissioning of refrigerant pipework must be carried out by suitably F-Gas certified engineers.
⚠ Protect the insulation outdoors
Foam insulation should be protected from direct sunlight and weather on external runs. Run the pair coil in line-set trunking or cover it with a UV-resistant finish, and seal the joints and ends where tube meets the units.
ℹ Match the pairing to your unit
Liquid and gas pipe sizes are set by the unit manufacturer and listed in the installation manual. The first size in each pairing is the liquid line and the second is the gas line.
Key features
⏱️
Half the installation time
Liquid and gas lines arrive pre-insulated together, so pipework installs in less than half the time of conventional methods, according to Lawton.

Frequently asked questions
Which pairing do I need?
Check the liquid and gas pipe sizes in your indoor and outdoor unit installation manual. The pairing lists the liquid line first and the gas line second, for example 1/4" + 3/8".
Is the insulation Class 0?
Yes. Lawton states its pair coil insulation is NBR foam that is Class 0 tested and passed in the UK.
How do I separate the two pipes?
The pair is made with a profile designed for easy splitting, so you can separate the liquid and gas lines where they run to their connections.
Can I join two coils?
Yes, using brazed or press fittings suitable for ACR tube, then insulating the joint. Refrigerant pipework must be installed and tested by F-Gas certified engineers.
Is it suitable for outdoor runs?
It can run outside when the foam is protected from sunlight and weather, for example in line-set trunking. Seal the joints and the ends.
