The ScaleBuster MISB19 is a ¾" physical water conditioner using patented catalytic technology to prevent limescale without electricity, chemicals, magnets or salt. The MISB19 is the mid-range domestic and light commercial size in the ScaleBuster MI Series — suited to larger domestic properties with higher water demand, small hotels, B&Bs and similar applications with ¾" incoming mains supplies.
Water passing through the ScaleBuster's precision-engineered catalytic chamber undergoes a controlled nucleation reaction, altering the crystalline structure of calcium carbonate so that scale-forming minerals remain suspended in the water flow rather than depositing as hard scale on boiler heat exchangers, pipework, shower heads, taps and appliances. With a maximum flow capacity of 6.5 m³/h, the MISB19 handles the demand of busy domestic and small commercial premises with ease.
NSF International and WRAS certified, the MISB19 has no moving parts and requires no maintenance or consumables — providing over 20 years of continuous scale prevention at zero running cost once installed.

When should I choose the MISB19 over the MISB12?Choose the MISB19 (¾") if your incoming mains supply pipe is ¾" in diameter, or if your property has a higher water demand — for example, a large family home, HMO, small hotel or B&B. The MISB12 (½") is generally appropriate for standard single-household domestic use on a 15mm/½" supply.
Can it be installed on commercial premises?Yes. The MISB19 is regularly specified for small commercial applications including restaurants, care homes, small hotels and office buildings. For larger commercial flow rates, consider the MISB24 (1") or MISB32 (1¼").
Does it change how the water tastes?No. The ScaleBuster modifies only the crystalline behaviour of calcium carbonate — the water's chemical composition, mineral content, pH and taste are completely unchanged.
Which direction should it be installed?Install with the flow direction arrow on the body pointing in the direction of water flow. The ScaleBuster can be installed in any physical orientation.
Does the catalytic element ever need replacing?No. The catalytic core does not deplete or wear — it performs its function through a physical surface reaction that is not consumed. The design life is 20+ years with no maintenance required.
