The Ideal Pro 300L Indirect Unvented Cylinder (model IDEPROIN300) is a floor-standing mains-pressure hot water cylinder built for larger households with multiple bathrooms. Manufactured in the UK from high-grade stainless steel, it draws water directly from the mains supply to deliver strong, even hot water flow at every outlet, without the need for a loft-mounted cold water storage tank.
Designed for use with a gas, oil or LPG heat-only or system boiler, the cylinder is heated indirectly via an internal primary coil and is supplied as a complete package with all the safety and control components required for a Building Regulations Part G3 compliant installation, including two 3kW immersion heaters for independent top and bottom zone backup or off-peak electric heating.

Key Features
Duplex Stainless Steel Vessel
The storage vessel is manufactured from high quality duplex stainless steel, offering strong resistance to corrosion without the need for a sacrificial anode.
Mains Pressure Hot Water
Being an unvented design, the cylinder takes its supply directly from the mains, giving strong, balanced flow at showers and taps without a header tank.
Indirect Coil Heating
An internal primary heating coil is heated by a connected gas, oil or LPG boiler, compatible with both sealed and open-vented (F&E) primary heating systems.
Twin 3kW Immersion Backup
This 300L model is fitted with two 3kW immersion heaters (top and bottom) for independent zone backup or off-peak electric heating, each with its own control and energy cut-out thermostats.
Complete Inlet Control Group
Supplied with a combination inlet valve incorporating pressure reduction, a check valve, strainer, balanced cold take-off and expansion relief, simplifying compliant installation.
25 Year Vessel Warranty
Backed by a 25 year warranty on the stainless steel vessel and a 2 year warranty on all other components, subject to registration and manufacturer's terms.

Important Safety Information: This cylinder is not suitable for use with combi boilers, which do not use a separate storage cylinder, and must not be used with solid fuel boilers or where steam is the primary heating medium. It should be installed by a competent, qualified installer in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and current Water Regulations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ideal Pro 300L cylinder suitable for my boiler?
It is designed for use with a gas, oil or LPG heat-only or system boiler supplying an indirect primary coil, and works with either sealed or open-vented (F&E) primary heating systems. It is not compatible with combi boilers, which do not use a storage cylinder.
Why does the technical data show 287 litres rather than 300 litres?
The "300L" in the product name refers to the model's capacity band within the manufacturer's range rather than an exact fill volume. The manufacturer's confirmed technical specification lists an actual nominal capacity of 287 litres for this model.
Does this cylinder need a loft cold water tank?
No. As an unvented cylinder, it takes its supply directly from the mains, so no cold water storage tank or header tank is required, freeing up loft space.
What happens if my boiler is not working?
This 300L cylinder includes two 3kW immersion heaters (top and bottom) as standard, which can heat water electrically as a backup, or be used for off-peak electric heating independently of the boiler.
How long does the water take to heat up?
Based on the primary coil and immersion duty (and assuming adequate boiler output), typical reheat time is around 38 minutes from cold.
What is the warranty on this cylinder?
The stainless steel vessel is covered for 25 years, while other components such as valves, thermostats and the immersion heater carry a 2 year parts and labour warranty, subject to registration and the manufacturer's terms and conditions.
