The Honeywell Home VTL120 Valencia Traditional (MPN VTL120-15A) is a matching 15 mm angled thermostatic radiator valve and lockshield set with chrome-plated brass valve bodies and a white easy-grip Traditional head. The head carries a green energy-saving button that alerts the user to the economical setting for comfort, and its liquid-filled sensor gives consistent, long-lasting control.
The bodies are bi-directional, so they fit at either end of the radiator with no need to check the flow direction, and the integrated balancing insert keeps the radiator balancing setting when the TRV and lockshield are closed for cleaning or decorating. The head can be mounted vertically or horizontally by swapping the tailpiece and pipe fittings, and the 6 mm play on the radiator tailpiece allows for variation in radiator distance from the valve.
Tested to EN 215, Keymark certified and TELL 'I-class' energy efficiency certified, the valve is rated PN10 (10 bar) with 15 mm compression connections and a standard M30 × 1.5 head connection, so the body also accepts Honeywell Home evohome electronic radiator controller heads.

Do not leave the head on position 0 in freezing weather
Honeywell advises that heating can freeze when a radiator thermostat is set to position 0. The zero position is still thermostatically controlled, so the valve may reopen when the temperature falls, but it is not a substitute for frost protection. Use the frost setting if the property will be unheated in cold weather.
Two-pipe systems and head position
To work correctly, the Valencia Traditional TRV should be installed on a two-pipe heating system and needs a free flow of air around the head to sense room temperature. Do not cover it with a curtain or put furniture in front of it. The system water should meet VDI 2035 (pH 8 - 9.5), any additives must suit EPDM seals (avoid mineral oils), and heavily polluted systems must be flushed before fitting.
What's in the box
1 × Valencia Traditional TRV with thermostatic head, 1 × matching angled lockshield, and the tailpieces, nuts and compression olives for 15 mm copper pipe. The valve is supplied with a protection cap. A matching drain-off version is a separate product.
Key Features
Bi-Directional Flow
The valve bodies allow water to flow in either direction, and are tested for noise-free operation including in reverse flow. You can fit the TRV on the flow or the return of the radiator.
Integrated Balancing Insert
Choose from six flow presets (20 - 160 l/h nominal) using the presetting key. The factory setting is position 6, and the setting is retained when the TRV or lockshield is shut for cleaning or decorating.
Easy-Grip Head with Economy Button
The Traditional white head has a green economy button: press it to set a room temperature above 20°C, which prompts the user to choose the economical setting.
Flexible Installation
Angled valves can be flipped to point the head upwards or sideways along the radiator axis, and the head can be mounted vertically or horizontally with the 6 mm tailpiece play absorbing variation in radiator distance.
Smart-Ready Body
The M30 × 1.5 thermostat connection is compatible with a wide range of Honeywell Home heads, including remote sensor, vandal-resistant and the evohome electronic TRV heads.
Maintenance-Free Seals
A double O-ring seal keeps the spindle maintenance-free, and the valve insert can be replaced without draining the system using service tool VA8200A001 (for Valencia bodies since 2015).
Suitable For
Radiator Upgrades
Replacing manual or older radiator valves on 15 mm copper pipework with thermostatic control in each room.
New Two-Pipe Systems
New installations where each radiator needs room-by-room temperature control and a lockshield for balancing.
Balanced Heating
Systems where presetting each valve keeps radiators balanced, helping the boiler stay in condensing mode.
Smart Heating Upgrades
Homes that may add evohome electronic heads later using the same valve bodies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use these on a one-pipe system?
Honeywell says the Valencia Traditional TRV should be installed on a two-pipe heating system. It also needs a free flow of air around the head so it can sense the room temperature accurately.
Which end of the radiator does the TRV go on?
Either. The bodies are bi-directional, so the TRV can go on the flow or the return with no need to change the flow direction after installation, and the lockshield goes on the opposite end.
How do I balance the radiators?
Use the presetting key (VA8201PI04) to turn the setting dial to one of six positions. If the required flow does not match exactly, use the next higher setting. The valve ships on position 6, and the lockshield can be used to throttle or isolate the radiator.
Can I replace the valve insert without draining the system?
Yes. The insert can be replaced with the VA8200A001 service tool while the system is operating, for Valencia valve bodies made since 2015. A replacement insert (VS1200SX01) is available.
Will it work with smart heating controls?
The body uses the standard M30 × 1.5 connection and accepts Honeywell Home evohome electronic TRV heads. A replacement white Traditional head is T1001W0GB.
How much energy can TRVs save?
Research for TACMA, the Controls Association within BEAMA, shows that in a typical UK house, heating energy use can fall by up to 40% when TRVs are added to a room thermostat. Honeywell also cites research indicating that static balancing can save a further 5 kWh per m² per year.
