The Honeywell Home T3R (Y3H710RF0053) is a wireless 7-day programmable room thermostat supplied with its receiver box. The thermostat can sit wherever the room temperature reads best, while the receiver is wired to the boiler, so there is no cable to run between the two. Honeywell designed the T3 series for social housing, new builds and mass installations, which makes it a dependable choice for heating professionals who want a simple, repeatable install.
Programming is straightforward: 7 day or 5/2 day scheduling with up to 4 time periods a day, a pre-configured schedule to start from and a copy day function. The large backlit display shows room and set temperature, and Auto, Manual and Off modes are a button press away. Installer settings include a temperature offset, minimum on-time and cycle-rate adjustment for boiler compatibility, and upper and lower set points so extreme temperatures cannot be set. With a typical 30 metre RF range in a residential building, it suits most homes.

Compatibility: heating only, not electric heating
The T3R switches boilers, zone valves and similar on/off heating appliances and is not suitable for controlling electric heating. It provides heating control only and does not switch hot water. The receiver box needs a 230V mains supply and a 2-core connection to the boiler’s thermostat input, so check your boiler’s manual before ordering.
Boiler control type
Honeywell lists this kit for 24-230V on/off appliances such as gas and combi boilers and heat pumps, and its T3-series literature also references OpenTherm® for the range. This kit’s receiver is a relay-type on/off unit, so confirm that your appliance has a suitable on/off room thermostat input.
Fail-safe operation
If the radio link between thermostat and receiver is lost, or the temperature sensor develops a fault, the receiver falls back to a 20% on / 80% off cycle to keep the heating running, and alert messages help with fault finding.
Key features
Wireless two-way RF
No wiring between thermostat and boiler. A signal strength test and RF fault indication help you place the thermostat correctly.
Flexible scheduling
7 day or 5/2 day programmes, up to 4 periods a day, copy day and a factory schedule so it works straight away. Built-in memory holds programmes indefinitely.
Clear, backlit display
A large screen with easily recognised icons shows time and temperature, with 12 or 24 hour clock options.
Boiler-friendly settings
Minimum on-time and cycle-rate settings, a temperature offset and upper and lower set points let you tune it to the system.
Efficient control
Self-learning control aims to reduce boiler cycling, and the thermostat is ErP Class IV (+2%). Supports Boiler Plus time and temperature control.
Easy to mount and lock
Supplied with a table stand or mount it on the wall. Use the lock function to prevent unwanted changes in shared or public spaces, plus restore schedule and factory reset.

Frequently asked questions
What is supplied in the kit?
You get the wireless thermostat, the receiver box that connects to the boiler, a table stand, batteries and installation instructions.
How far can the thermostat be from the receiver?
Honeywell quotes 30 metres in a typical residential building. Walls and floors reduce range, so use the built-in signal strength test and hold the thermostat 2-3 metres from the installed receiver when binding and checking.
Can it control electric heating?
No. It is intended for boilers and other on/off heating appliances and is not suitable for controlling electric heating.
What happens if the signal drops or batteries run out?
If the RF link is lost the receiver runs a 20% on / 80% off fail-safe cycle so the heating is not left off, and alert messages point you toward the fault. Replace the batteries when the low-battery warning appears.
Can it replace my existing wired thermostat?
Yes in most cases. Before removing the old unit, photograph the wiring. The receiver needs a 230V supply and a 2-core connection to the boiler’s thermostat input, then the thermostat is bound to the receiver and placed on the table stand or the wall.
Does it work with heat pumps?
Honeywell lists compatibility with 24-230V on/off appliances including heat pumps, provided the heat pump has a suitable on/off room thermostat input. Check the heat pump manual before ordering.
