This is the left and right side panel of the ballast box base used in the GSE Ground System, GSE's ground-mounted frame for photovoltaic modules. Made from 1mm galvanised steel, it forms two of the four walls of the ballast box that anchors each ground-mounted module bay to the ground using sand, gravel, cement or concrete slabs rather than roof penetrations.
The GSE Ground System is built up from a small set of pressed steel box-base panels; this side panel is used together with the corresponding front-and-back panel (ART102852) to complete each ballast box.

Please Note
This part is a component of the GSE Ground System ballast box, not the GSE In-Roof System. Confirm the mounting system before ordering, as In-Roof and Ground System components are not interchangeable.
Ballast Box Side Wall
Forms the left and right sides of the box base, completing the ballast enclosure alongside the front-and-back panels.
Galvanised Steel Construction
Pressed from 1mm galvanised steel for corrosion resistance in an outdoor, ground-level environment.
No Groundworks Required
Part of a system that installs PV modules on the ground without drilling or masonry work, ballasted in place instead.
Adjustable Tilt
Supports installation angles from 7° to 40° depending on the corner-piece configuration selected.
Flexible Ballasting Options
The completed box can be filled with sand, gravel, cement or concrete slabs to suit the site and wind exposure.
Compact, Lightweight Format
Designed to be easy to install, ballast and move, with a lightweight, 100% recyclable steel construction.

What is the GSE Box Base side panel used for?
It forms the left and right walls of the ballast box base in the GSE Ground System, the ground-mounted frame used to install PV modules without roof space or groundworks.
Is this part compatible with the GSE In-Roof System?
No. This is a GSE Ground System component. It is not used with, and is not compatible with, the GSE In-Roof System.
What other parts do I need alongside this panel?
Each ballast box also requires the front-and-back panel (ART102852), plus the corner brackets, corner pieces and fixings specified in the GSE Ground System installation manual.
How is the ballast box weighted down?
Once assembled, the box is filled with sand, gravel, cement or concrete slabs. GSE recommends around 120kg per module at a standard 40° tilt in typical wind conditions.
What tilt angles does the GSE Ground System support?
The system can be set to any angle from 7° up to 40° by selecting the appropriate adjustable corner piece length.
