The Growatt ShineWiLan-X2 is a three-in-one monitoring datalogger combining Wi-Fi, LAN (Ethernet) and Bluetooth in a single unit. It plugs into the USB port of any compatible Growatt inverter and connects the system to the Growatt ShineServer cloud monitoring platform and ShinePhone app (iOS and Android). Choose wired Ethernet for maximum stability, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for standard wireless installation, or Bluetooth (BLE 4.2) for local configuration and firmware updates directly from a smartphone. All three interfaces are present simultaneously. Built-in memory stores up to one month of data with automatic retransmission if connectivity is interrupted. IP65 rated. Wi-Fi range up to 50 m, LAN range up to 100 m (Cat5e). Data is sent to ShineServer every 5 minutes. Most Growatt monitoring dongles offer a single connection method. The ShineWiLan-X2 integrates all three: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) for wireless connection to a router, Ethernet (LAN) via RJ45 for a stable wired connection up to 100 m using Cat5e cable, and Bluetooth BLE 4.2 for local configuration and firmware upgrade directly from the ShinePhone app without needing network access. A single SKU works for any installation: strong Wi-Fi locations, basements or outbuildings beyond Wi-Fi range, and sites where wired is preferred.

Plug-and-Play LAN — No Wi-Fi Password Entry Required
Connecting an Ethernet cable between the ShineWiLan-X2 and a router LAN port completes the setup automatically via DHCP. No app pairing, no Wi-Fi password entry, no AP mode setup sequence. This is the simplest and most stable installation path when the inverter is close to a router or network switch.
The Bluetooth module enables the ShinePhone app to connect directly to the ShineWiLan-X2 over BLE to: configure Wi-Fi credentials (SSID and password), perform over-the-air firmware updates, and check device status. This eliminates the AP mode setup required by earlier dongles, where the phone must temporarily disconnect from its own Wi-Fi.

One Month Built-In Storage with Auto-Retransmission
Built-in flash memory caches up to one month of data locally. During connectivity interruptions — router outage, ISP issue or server maintenance — data continues to be collected. When connectivity is restored, the device automatically retransmits all missed data to ShineServer with no manual action required and no gaps in monitoring history.

What is the difference between the ShineWiLan-X2, ShineWiFi-X and ShineLAN-X?
All three plug into a Growatt inverter USB port and upload data to ShineServer. The ShineWiFi-X provides 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. The ShineLAN-X provides Ethernet (wired) only. The ShineWiLan-X2 combines Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth (BLE 4.2) in one unit. The X2 is the most versatile option and covers all installation scenarios.
Which Growatt inverters is the ShineWiLan-X2 compatible with?
All Growatt PV and hybrid inverters with a USB port in the -X, -XE or -XH series: MIC TL-X, MIN TL-X, MOD TL3-X, MID TL3-X, MAC TL3-X, MAX TL3-X and SPH-UP. Not compatible with older -S series inverters.
Does the Ethernet connection need any app configuration?
No. Connect the RJ45 cable between the ShineWiLan-X2 and a router LAN port, power on the inverter, and the device obtains an IP via DHCP and begins uploading. For a static IP, access the built-in web interface at 192.168.0.254 by setting your PC to 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Data is stored locally on the device for up to one month. On reconnection, all stored data is retransmitted automatically. No data is lost.
Is ShineServer monitoring free?
Yes. Standard residential monitoring via ShineServer and ShinePhone is free. The UK Installer Code Policy requires installers to register a code before commissioning — this is a registration step, not a paid subscription.
