The Geocel theWORKS XXX (marketed by the manufacturer as its next-generation THE WORKS PRO X) is an ultimate-strength construction grab adhesive with an instant initial grab that gives an ultra-fast bond on almost any building material — supplied in a 290 ml cartridge in white.
Formulated by Geocel (Sherwin-Williams Diversified Brands, Sheffield), the product delivers 50% more initial grab than traditional grab adhesives and, in most applications, eliminates the need for additional fixings. It works on wet or dry surfaces, cures under water, is fully paintable and gives a weatherproof, non-shrinking bond suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Service Range
Good to Know
Bonds a wide range of surfaces including wet substrates, timber, MDF, metal, uPVC, glass, natural stone, polystyrene and concrete. Once cured it gives excellent resistance to UV, vibration, abrasion and impact, and will accept water-based paints for a fully-finished appearance.
Key Features
Ultimate Initial Grab
Delivers 50% more instant grab than traditional grab adhesives, holding heavy items in place without the need for temporary supports, braces or additional mechanical fixings on most applications.
Bonds Almost Any Substrate
Suitable for wet surfaces, wood, metal, PVCu, glass, stone, polystyrene, concrete and many more. Its advanced formulation allows for precise adjustment before the bond sets to enable a perfect finish.
Interior & Exterior Use
Weatherproof, UV-stable and non-shrinking — equally at home on internal joinery, kitchen and bathroom fixings, external cladding, guttering repairs, garden ornament fixing and general site work.
Wet or Dry Application
Applies and cures on wet or dry surfaces, and will continue curing under water — ideal for emergency repairs, roofing details and applications where drying the substrate first is not practical.
Paintable & Non-Staining
Cured beads can be over-coated with water-based paints, and (using a suitable water-based undercoat) with a range of alkyd, cellulose and polyurethane systems. The formulation is non-staining on porous stones and masonry.
Durable, Flexible Bond
Cures to a tough elastomer with 48 Shore A hardness and 3.4 N/mm² tensile strength, absorbing vibration, thermal movement and shock loading without cracking, shrinking or detaching over time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between theWORKS XXX and THE WORKS PRO X?
Geocel describes THE WORKS PRO X as the next generation, launched in the footsteps of theWORKS XXX. The MPN (6001246) and the EAN (5033383012464) map to the same physical cartridge under both names, so the product supplied is Geocel's current formulation regardless of which name appears on the retailer listing.
How much does the "50% more grab" actually mean in practice?
Geocel's published grab-test data shows the bond climbing rapidly from around 600 N at 30 minutes to roughly 1,000 N at 1 hour, 2,000 N at 24 hours and around 2,600 N at 48 hours. In practice this means most heavy items — skirtings, coving, panelling, dado rails, mirrors, decorative stone — can be pressed into place and released, without needing props or temporary supports.
Can it really be applied to wet surfaces or under water?
Yes. Its hybrid-polymer formulation is moisture-tolerant and will begin curing on damp substrates and even under water. This makes it well suited to emergency roof, gutter and external repairs, and to internal applications (bathroom, kitchen, utility rooms) where waiting for the substrate to fully dry is impractical.
Once cured, can I paint over it?
Yes. Once fully cured, the bead accepts water-based emulsion, water-based primer/undercoat and water-based top coats directly. For alkyd-resin, traditional oil-based, exterior gloss or solvent-based paints, apply a suitable water-based undercoat first. Because coating chemistries vary widely, Geocel recommends a small compatibility test before over-coating large visible areas.
What is the shelf life and how should the cartridge be stored?
Unopened cartridges have a 9-month shelf life from the date of manufacture when stored at temperatures below 30 °C, upright, in cool and dry conditions. Once the nozzle has been pierced, the cartridge should be re-sealed and used as soon as reasonably practical to prevent skinning at the tip.
