The Genius Roof Flat Tiled Kit, built around the manufacturer's SolarFlash system, is a compact waterproof flashing solution designed specifically for flat and plain tile roofs during solar PV bracket installation. Manufactured by Hallclip (Genius Roof Solutions), it uses a smaller SolarFlash panel than the slate kits, sized to suit flat concrete tiles such as Marley Modern and Redland Mini Stonewold, and plain tiles such as Marley Acme, Redland Rosemary, and biscuit-profile tiles.
As with the rest of the SolarFlash range, the hood sits proud of the roof anchor bracket so the bracket can move freely without ever contacting the flashing or making the tile beneath it load-bearing. Because there is no need to cut or refit tiles around the bracket, installation is faster than on slate roofs, while still helping installations meet MCS 012 compliance for weatherproofing around roof-mounted brackets.

Please Note: This 'Small' SolarFlash panel is sized for single-lap flat and plain tiles with a head lap of up to 100mm. It is not the same product as the large SolarFlash used in the Slate Refit and Slate New Build kits, and it is not suitable for profile concrete tiles (e.g. Redland Regent, Marley Mendip, Double Roman) — those require the separate FlexiFlash Profile Tile Kit.
Compact Waterproof SolarFlash Panel
The smaller 235mm x 250mm flashing panel is sized specifically for flat and plain tile profiles, sitting proud of the roof anchor bracket so the bracket stays free to move without disturbing the flashing or the tile beneath it.
No Tile Cutting or Refitting Required
Unlike the slate kits, the Flat Tiled Kit is designed so that tiles do not need to be cut or refitted around the bracket, reducing installation time and labour on flat and plain tile roofs.
Weather Stop Foam Included
A foam insert seals the gap between the SolarFlash hood and the surrounding tile, keeping the installation watertight and preventing wind-driven rain or debris from entering the roof space.
Shims for Bracket Clearance
Two shims (packings) are supplied to lift the roof anchor bracket away from the tile beneath it, helping maintain the correct clearance between bracket and flashing.
MCS 012 Compliance Support
Installing with SolarFlash helps ensure PV installations meet MCS 012 weatherproofing requirements around roof-mounted brackets, in place of the older method of hand-dressing loose flashing material.
Full Installation Instructions Supplied
The kit includes a step-by-step installation guide, and no additional expert knowledge or specialist training is required to fit it correctly.
Good to Know: The 'Small' SolarFlash hood is the same size across all three flat/plain tile applications, but the panel's overall length is based on tiles being single lap with a head lap of up to 100mm. Always confirm your tile's head lap before ordering.

Good to Know: One SolarFlash Flat Tile Kit is required for every roof anchor bracket in the installation, so order quantities to match your total bracket count, not your panel count.
Important Safety Information: This kit is for flat and plain tile roofs only. It is not compatible with natural or fibre cement slate (use the Slate Refit or Slate New Build Kit instead) or with profile concrete tiles such as Redland Regent, Marley Mendip or Double Roman (use the FlexiFlash Profile Tile Kit instead). Fitting the wrong kit to a roof type will compromise the weatherproof seal.
Which roof types is this kit designed for?
The Flat Tiled Kit is designed for flat concrete tiles (such as Marley Modern and Redland Mini Stonewold) and plain tiles (such as Marley Acme and Redland Rosemary). It is not suitable for slate roofs or profile concrete tiles.
Do I need to cut or remove tiles to fit this kit?
No. Unlike the slate kits, the Flat Tiled Kit is designed so tiles do not need to be cut or refitted around the bracket, which reduces installation time on flat and plain tile roofs.
What head lap is this kit designed for?
The 'Small' SolarFlash panel is sized for single-lap tiles with a head lap of up to 100mm. Confirm your tile's head lap before ordering to ensure a proper fit.
How many kits do I need for my installation?
You need one SolarFlash Flat Tile Kit per roof anchor bracket, not one per panel. Count the total number of brackets your mounting system requires and order that many kits.
Do I still need a roof hook as well as this kit?
Yes. SolarFlash flashes around the bracket itself, but it must be used together with a flat tile roof hook that actually secures the tile to the batten. The kit does not replace the roof hook.
What if my roof has profile concrete tiles instead of flat or plain tiles?
Profile concrete tiles such as Redland Regent, Marley Mendip or Double Roman require the separate FlexiFlash Profile Tile Kit, which uses a flexible material that moulds around the tile's curvature. This Flat Tiled Kit is not designed for that profile.
