The Fastensol Plug-In Solar Balcony Mounting Kit 2.0 is a lightweight, durable mounting solution that lets you fix framed solar modules directly to balcony railings without structural modification. Built from high-strength aluminium alloy profiles with stainless steel fasteners, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term outdoor durability.
Designed for plug-in solar balcony systems using micro-inverters, the kit carries modules up to 1134 mm wide (maximum 2384 × 1134 mm and 35 kg) and gives an adjustable tilt of 15° to 45° to suit the sun path. All hardware comes in one box, including round and square railing hooks, safety wire ropes and M8 expansion bolts, and the same frame can also be fixed to brick or concrete walls. Every kit is covered by a 12-year warranty on the brackets.

Safety: two-person installation
A minimum of two people is required to lift and position the assembled system. Do not attempt installation alone. The safety wire ropes must be connected to the fixing points and the structure checked for stability before support is released. Do not install on damaged balcony structures, unstable railings, in extreme weather or without the proper fixing components.
Compatibility: railings, modules and height
Suitable for framed modules only, up to 2384 × 1134 mm and 35 kg. Railings must be square or round up to 72 mm diameter, structurally stable, with no visible corrosion, cracks or deformation. Hollow bricks, plasterboard, external thermal insulation walls, hollow tiled walls and lightweight partition panels are forbidden mounting surfaces. Above 15 m, project-specific wind verification is required; buildings over 20 m, exposed coastal sites, tall isolated structures and high wind exposure sites need additional engineering verification.
Not included in the kit
The kit supplies the mounting structure and fixings only. Solar modules and the micro-inverter are supplied separately, and the system is connected and activated following the micro-inverter manufacturer's instructions.
Key features
No structural modification
Hooks clamp onto square and round railings up to 72 mm, with safety wire ropes as a secondary fixing.
Adjustable 15–45° tilt
Set the angle of incline between 15° and 45° to improve sun exposure and energy yield.
Everything in one box
All hardware included for a quick, efficient install: brackets, cross beams, blocks, bolts, hooks, ropes and expansion bolts.
Corrosion resistant
High-strength aluminium alloy profiles with stainless steel fasteners for long-term outdoor durability.
Balcony, wall and ground
Designed for balcony, wall and ground photovoltaic applications, with 4 × M8×80 expansion bolts included for wall fixing.

Frequently asked questions
Does the kit include solar panels or a micro-inverter?
No. The kit is the mounting structure and fixings only. The panel and micro-inverter are bought separately; the mounting kit is designed to carry both.
What railings will it fit?
Square and round balcony railings up to 72 mm in diameter. Steel and aluminium railings and concrete balcony structures are recommended. The railing must be stable with no visible corrosion, cracks or deformation. Choose the round or square hooks to match your railing profile.
Can I fix it to a wall instead of a balcony?
Yes. The kit can be fixed to brick and concrete walls using the supplied M8×80 expansion bolts (drill 80 mm deep with an M8 bit and clean out the holes). Hollow bricks, plasterboard, external insulation walls, hollow tiled walls and lightweight partitions must not be used.
What size and weight of module can it carry?
Mainstream framed modules up to 2384 × 1134 mm and 35 kg. If your module is wider than 1134 mm it is outside the kit's rated range.
How high can it be installed?
Standard installation is up to 20 m, with 15 m or less recommended. Above 15 m, project-specific wind verification is required. Buildings over 20 m, exposed coastal sites, tall isolated structures and high-wind sites need additional engineering verification.
What tools do I need to install it?
An open-end spanner (supplied), an M6/M8 hex key set, torque wrench, dual-bubble spirit level, tape measure and marker pen. Wall installs also need a light-duty hammer drill and M8 drill bit. Two people are required for lifting and positioning.
What is covered by the warranty, and how should I maintain it?
The brackets carry a 12-year warranty covering free replacement of components with material cracking, anodising delamination or factory defects under compliant installation and normal use. Inspect every 12 months (bolt tightness, aluminium corrosion, safety wire condition, module fixing) and immediately after storms, heavy snow or strong wind.
