The Fastensol Flat Tile Roof Hook (Landscape) — TH02A is the landscape-orientation counterpart to the TH02, providing a secure rafter fixing for solar mounting rails beneath flat, plain, rosemary, biscuit, and peg tile roof coverings. Its adjustable base and arm allow flexible positioning to suit varying tile profiles and roof layouts.
Made from high-grade stainless steel, the TH02A sits flat beneath the tile without causing lift, cracking, or misalignment, and integrates directly with Fastensol mounting rails. As with all Fastensol tile hooks, a small number of tiles are lifted to expose the rafter, the hook is fixed in place, and the tiles are replaced around it to maintain a weatherproof roof line.
Installation Method
To fit, a few tiles are removed from the roof and the hook secured to a rafter pointing 'downhill' using the tek screws provided. Plywood padding can be used to ensure correct spacing from the tile surface, and the tiles are then replaced around the hook. A weatherproof finish is best achieved using flashing or the Genius Solarflash; some installers also use Hookstops.
Professional Installation Required
Installation of Fastensol mounting components must be carried out only by professionally trained installers. It is the installer's responsibility to verify the structural integrity of the roof or substructure the system is fixed to — rotten, rusted, undersized, or excessively spaced rafters are not suitable and installation on such structures will void the warranty.
Key Features
Adjustable Base & Arm
The TH02A's adjustable base and arm allow the hook to be positioned to suit different tile profiles and roof layouts, giving installers flexibility on site rather than a fixed, single-fit geometry.
Purpose-Built for Flat & Plain Tiles
Suitable for flat, plain, rosemary, biscuit and peg tile roof coverings, sitting flush beneath the tile surface without causing lift or cracking.
Landscape Orientation Support
Designed specifically for arrays mounted with panels in landscape orientation, positioning the mounting rail correctly for this layout.
High-Grade Stainless Steel Build
Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long-term structural reliability on exposed, weather-facing roofs.
Direct Rafter Fixing
Fixes directly to the rafter beneath the tile with tek screws, ensuring wind and snow loads are transferred safely into the roof structure.
MCS 012 Certified System
Part of the MCS 012-certified Fastensol pitched roof mounting system, supporting compliant UK grid-connected installations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between TH02 and TH02A?
Both hooks are designed for the same flat/plain/rosemary/biscuit/peg tile types. TH02 is intended for arrays in portrait orientation, while TH02A is the landscape orientation version with an adjustable base and arm for flexible positioning.
Why does the TH02A have an adjustable base?
The adjustable base and arm allow the hook to be fine-tuned on site to suit variations in tile profile, batten position, and roof layout, helping achieve consistent rail alignment across a landscape-orientation array.
How is the TH02A roof hook installed?
A few tiles are lifted or removed at the marked fixing positions, and the hook is secured directly to the rafter pointing downhill using the tek screws provided. Plywood padding can be used to set the correct spacing before the tiles are replaced around the hook.
How do I keep the roof weatherproof around the hook?
A weatherproof finish is best achieved using lead flashing or a proprietary product such as the Genius Solarflash around the hook penetration point. Some installers also use Hookstops for additional tile retention.
Can I use this with mounting rails or clamps from another brand?
No. Fastensol components are engineered as a matched system, and mixing Fastensol hardware with mounting equipment from other suppliers is not supported and will void the warranty. Always use genuine Fastensol rails, clamps, hooks and splices together as a complete system.
What warranty does this product carry?
Fastensol backs this product with a 12-year product warranty against defects in material and workmanship, plus a 5-year finish warranty on the anodised coating, from Xiamen Fasten Solar Technology Co., Ltd. The finish warranty is void if the component is not cleaned and maintained in line with AAMA 609 & 610-02 guidance for architecturally finished aluminium, and the full warranty is void if the product is modified, installed incorrectly, or mixed with another manufacturer's mounting hardware.
