The Enphase IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase is an all-in-one AC-coupled storage system that gives installers a single unit configurable for either single-phase or three-phase properties. Rather than stocking separate SKUs, the field-switchable design lets you set the phase and power rating to match the DNO connection and load requirements on site. It stores 5.0 kWh of usable energy using six embedded IQ8T‑BAT Microinverters, delivering up to 3.84 kVA continuous power in single-phase configuration or up to 1.28 kVA per phase in three-phase configuration.
Built on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, the battery is evaluated to UL 9540A, the highest industry safety standard for battery energy storage, and backed by a 15-year limited warranty covering up to 6,000 cycles.

Certified installation only: this battery must be installed, commissioned, and replaced only by an Enphase-certified installer. First-time installers must complete Enphase's certification and submit a design review before ordering, and the upgrade course must be completed before commissioning a FlexPhase unit using the power de-rating feature.
Backup power needs the System Controller: this battery ships in grid-tied Self-Consumption mode by default. Whole-home backup during a grid outage requires the separately-sold IQ System Controller 3 INT. Grid-tied operation also requires an IQ Gateway Metered plus Communications Kit 2 INT (or IQ Combiner 2 EU 3P).
Phase configuration is a one-time choice: the unit ships as single-phase with a jumper block fitted on the AC terminals. Removing the jumper converts it to three-phase during installation. Once the power rating is provisioned in the Enphase Installer App it cannot be changed on site — Enphase Support must be contacted to alter it after commissioning.

Can this battery be switched between single-phase and three-phase after installation?
The unit ships as single-phase with a jumper block pre-installed on the AC terminals. To use it in a three-phase installation, the installer simply removes the jumper block during wiring, before commissioning. However, once the power rating is provisioned in the Enphase Installer App, it cannot be changed on site — Enphase Support must be contacted to modify it afterwards.
Does this battery provide backup power during a grid outage?
Not on its own. The IQ Battery 5P with FlexPhase supports Self-Consumption mode by default in a grid-tied system. Full Backup during a power cut is only available when the system also includes an IQ System Controller 3 INT, which is sold separately.
Can multiple units be installed together, and how many can share a circuit?
Yes. Depending on the configured power rating, up to 2 units per single-phase branch circuit or up to 4–10 units per three-phase circuit can be connected, with a maximum battery circuit total of up to 10 units at lower power ratings. The exact figure depends on the power rating selected during commissioning — refer to the manufacturer's power rating tables for the specific configuration required.
Where can this battery be installed?
The housing is IP55-rated, so it can be installed either indoors or outdoors, at altitudes up to 2,500 m and ambient temperatures between −20°C and 55°C. The optimum installation temperature range is 0°C to 30°C, and it must not be mounted on a flammable surface without a flame-retardant board fitted first.
Who is allowed to install and commission this battery?
