ZigBee 3.0 Flush-Mounted 230V COM/NO Relay Output — 3(1)A Humidity Sensor Built-In Alexa & Google 5-Year Warranty
The ENGO EONE-230W is a flush-mounted, mains-powered ZigBee 3.0 smart thermostat in white — designed for permanent wall installation in a standard 60 mm back box. Powered by 230V AC and featuring a volt-free COM/NO relay output rated at 3(1)A, it can wire directly to a wiring centre, zone valve, or control box without a separate receiver. It includes a built-in humidity sensor, TPI algorithm, optional floor sensor input, and full app and voice control via the ENGO EGATE-PRO gateway. The permanent-installation choice from the ENGO ONE range for new-build and professional UFH and boiler control.
Where the EONE-BATW is designed for cable-free flexibility, the EONE-230W is built for permanent, professional installation. It wires into the wall like a conventional thermostat — 230V L and N for power, and the COM/NO volt-free output for the heating signal — and sits flush in a standard 60 mm back box with a slim 13.5 mm profile above the surface. Everything else — the smartphone-inspired design, large LCD, humidity sensor, ZigBee 3.0 connectivity, TPI algorithm, and ENGO Smart app integration — is identical to the battery version.

About the EONE-230W
The EONE-230W mounts in a standard 60 mm flush back box — the same size used for UK light switches and sockets. The front plate is 90 × 90 mm and sits just 13.5 mm proud of the wall surface once installed in the box, giving a genuinely slim, flat-to-wall appearance. The full depth including the back box is 34 mm.
Unlike the EONE-BATW/B (battery versions), the EONE-230W has its own volt-free COM/NO relay output rated at 3(1)A. This means it can switch a zone valve, wiring centre input, or small heating load directly — without needing a separate relay module. For the ECB62-ZB wireless control box, the thermostat communicates via ZigBee Binding rather than a wired output. For a single-zone boiler or wiring centre with a 230V room thermostat input, the EONE-230W wires in exactly like a conventional programmable thermostat but adds full smart control on top.
The thermostat connects to the ENGO Smart ecosystem via the EGATE-PRO or EGATEZB ZigBee gateway (sold separately), unlocking full remote access, 7-day scheduling, temperature history graphs, and voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant. ENGO Binding also supports direct offline communication with the ECB62-ZB control box and EMOD-ZB relay — so heating continues even without internet.
The S1/COM sensor input accepts the optional ENGO EFS300 NTC floor temperature sensor — enabling floor overheating protection (critical for laminate, engineered wood, and LVT flooring) and "comfortable floor" mode for bathrooms and wet rooms. The S1/S2 terminals also accept a volt-free contact for hotel card reader integration, triggering an eco temperature setpoint when the card is removed from the holder.

Installation & Compatibility Notes
Installation must be carried out by a competent person in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and the heating appliance manufacturer's instructions. The thermostat requires a standard 60 mm flush back box. Connect L, N, and Earth to the thermostat's power terminals, and the COM/NO volt-free output to the room thermostat input of the wiring centre, control box, or zone valve. The COM/NO output is rated at 3(1)A — suitable for controlling wiring centres, standard zone valves, and ENGO ECB62-ZB zone inputs.
For ZigBee smart features, pair via the EGATE-PRO or EGATEZB gateway using the ENGO Smart app. For ENGO Binding (offline direct zone control on ECB62-ZB), follow the binding procedure in the installation guide. For floor sensor connection, wire the EFS300 sensor to S1 and COM. For hotel card integration, wire the volt-free contact output of the card reader to S1 and COM (or S2 and COM — check the installer menu configuration).
The thermostat's relay output can also be used without ZigBee smart features if desired — it functions as a standard programmable thermostat with local scheduling independent of any gateway or app.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate receiver module?
For wired connections to a wiring centre, control box input, or zone valve, the EONE-230W's built-in COM/NO relay output is sufficient — no separate relay module is needed. For wireless control of an ECB62-ZB or EMOD-ZB, the ZigBee signal is used instead of the wired output, and the receiver does its own switching.
What is the difference between EONE-230W and EONE-BATW?
The EONE-230W is flush-mounted and mains-powered (230V AC) with a physical COM/NO relay output — it wires permanently into the wall. The EONE-BATW is surface-mounted and battery-powered (rechargeable Li-Ion via USB-C) with no physical relay output — it communicates wirelessly only and requires a separate paired receiver to switch the heating load. Both share the same ZigBee 3.0 connectivity, app, humidity sensor, and TPI algorithm.
Do I need a ZigBee gateway?
Yes — the EGATE-PRO or EGATEZB gateway is required for pairing and for any app or voice control features. Without a gateway, the thermostat still functions as a local programmable thermostat using its relay output, but has no remote access, scheduling via app, or voice control.
Can I use it with the ECB62-ZB control box?
Yes — the EONE-230W is one of the primary thermostats designed for use with the ECB62-ZB. It pairs via ZigBee Binding, allowing it to control one zone on the control box wirelessly. Up to 6 EONE thermostats can be paired with a single ECB62-ZB (one per wireless zone).
Does it have a floor temperature limit function?
Yes — connect the optional ENGO EFS300 floor sensor to the S1/COM terminals and configure the floor sensor mode in the installer settings. You can then set a maximum floor temperature (to protect the floor covering) and a minimum floor temperature ("comfortable floor" mode for bathrooms).
What does the Hotel Card input do?
When wired to a hotel card reader's volt-free output, removing the card from the holder opens the contact and triggers the thermostat to switch to an eco/away setpoint — reducing energy use when the room is unoccupied. Inserting the card restores normal operation. This feature is configured in the installer settings menu.
