The EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Plus Single-Phase Hybrid Inverter is the higher-capacity model in the OCEAN 2 range, now available in 8 kW, 10 kW (9.9 kW rated) and 12 kW outputs. It is an all-in-one, stackable hybrid inverter built for larger homes and high-demand loads such as heat pumps, EV chargers and immersion heaters, with three independent MPPTs that accept up to 24 kW of PV from complex or multi-orientation roofs.
Integrated whole-home backup with a 72 A bypass and 0 ms load-side switchover means no additional gateway is needed, and a built-in smart meter removes external meter wiring. The inverter stacks on OCEAN 2 LFP batteries up to 96 kWh per inverter (with 8kWh modules), supports third-party inverter connection on the backup side, and is rated IP66 for indoor or outdoor mounting. EcoFlow backs it with a 15-year system warranty.

* The 0 ms transfer time applies in compliance with local grid regulations, with the grid in an open-circuit state, total load power not exceeding the rated backup output power, and stable grid conditions.
Safety and installation
Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified, MCS-certified installer in accordance with BS 7671 and the EcoFlow installation guide. At these output levels a G99 grid connection application must be made to the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and approved before commissioning. The system works with high-voltage DC on both the PV and battery sides.
Not compatible with the EcoFlow single-phase Gateway
The OCEAN 2 Plus inverters are not currently compatible with the EcoFlow single-phase Gateway. They do not need it: whole-home backup is integrated, with a 72 A bypass, so no additional gateway or backup box is required.
Batteries and battery base sold separately
The inverter ships without batteries. It stacks on EcoFlow OCEAN 2 LFP batteries (5kWh or 8kWh) on an OCEAN 2 battery floor base, with up to 6 batteries per tower and 12 modules per inverter using a second tower. OCEAN 2 batteries can also be mixed with PowerOcean LFP batteries, but mixed stacks have their own base requirements, so check the installation guide.
Backup operation
For 0 ms switchover, total backup load must not exceed the rated backup output power. The 72 A bypass supports higher household loads than the standard OCEAN 2 inverter, and up to 5 units can be paralleled in grid-connected systems.
Warranty
EcoFlow provides a 15-year system warranty for the OCEAN 2 Plus single-phase system. The 8kWh battery carries a 10-year compulsory warranty with an optional 5-year extension. Refer to EcoFlow's warranty policy for full terms.

All three models share the same enclosure, 36.5 kg weight, 3 MPPTs, IP66 rating, 72 A bypass and 0 ms backup switchover. Choose the output to match your household demand, PV array size and DNO connection limits.
