The EcoFlow OCEAN 2 Three-Phase Hybrid Inverter is an all-in-one, stackable hybrid inverter for three-phase homes, available in 8 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW outputs. It combines solar generation, battery storage and whole-home backup in a single system, with 3 MPPTs that accept up to 24 kW of PV and a battery bus that scales to 12 OCEAN 2 LFP battery modules, or up to 96 kWh with 8kWh modules.
Integrated whole-home backup with 0 ms load-side switchover and a built-in smart meter mean no separate backup box and no external meter wiring, which cuts installation time. The inverter stacks directly on the batteries, is rated IP66 for indoor or outdoor mounting, and is managed through the EcoFlow app, web portal or PowerInsight, with HEMS Intelligent mode optimising charging around dynamic electricity tariffs. EcoFlow backs it with a 15-year warranty.

Safety and installation
This system operates at up to 1000 V DC on the PV side and 720-960 V DC on the battery bus. Installation, wiring and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician following BS 7671 and the EcoFlow installation guide, and the connection must meet G98 or G99 as applicable to the system size. The inverter supports Emergency Power Off (EPO), and EcoFlow offers an Emergency Stop Button accessory.
Batteries and battery base sold separately
The inverter ships without batteries. It is designed to stack on EcoFlow OCEAN 2 LFP batteries (5kWh or 8kWh), up to 12 modules per inverter, on an OCEAN 2 battery floor base. A floor-standing stack holds up to 6 batteries, and a wall-mounted installation supports a maximum of 3 battery packs. OCEAN 2 batteries can be mixed with PowerOcean LFP batteries, but mixed stacks have their own base and stack-height requirements, so check the installation guide.
Backup operation
Whole-home backup is rated for up to 63 A. For 0 ms switchover, total backup load must not exceed the rated backup output power (8, 10 or 12 kW depending on model). Off-grid, up to 2 inverters can be cascaded, and on-grid up to 5.
Warranty
EcoFlow lists a 15-year warranty for the OCEAN 2 three-phase hybrid inverter. Refer to EcoFlow's warranty policy for full terms and conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Which output should I choose: 8, 10 or 12 kW?
Choose based on your household demand and PV array. All models offer the same 3 MPPTs, enclosure and backup performance, with rated outputs of 8, 10 or 12 kW and maximum PV inputs of 16, 20 or 24 kW. Your installer can size the system to your load and the DNO connection limits.
Do I need a separate backup box or meter?
No. The inverter has integrated whole-home backup (63 A, 0 ms switchover) and a built-in smart meter, so you do not need an additional backup box or external meter wiring.
Which batteries does it work with?
It is designed for EcoFlow OCEAN 2 LFP batteries in 5kWh and 8kWh sizes, up to 12 modules per inverter (up to 96 kWh with 8kWh modules). The batteries and the OCEAN 2 battery base are sold separately, and OCEAN 2 batteries can be combined with PowerOcean LFP batteries.
Can I add it to an existing solar system?
Yes. The backup side supports third-party inverter connection, so you can add storage and backup without replacing existing solar equipment, and generators can be integrated via ATS for long outages.
What does 0 ms switchover mean?
It is the load-side transfer interruption time when the grid fails. The 0 ms figure applies in compliance with local grid regulations, with an open-circuit grid, stable grid conditions and total load power within the rated backup output.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes. It is IP66 rated and suitable for indoor or outdoor floor-stand or wall-mounted installation, with an operating range of -20 to 60 °C (output derates above 40 °C, and above 2,000 m altitude).
