Description

The EcoFlow Gateway Backup Box (Single-Phase, EF-SG-001) is the central switching hub for whole-home backup with EcoFlow PowerOcean single-phase solar and battery systems. It supports 100 A mains and connects directly to your main distribution panel, so the whole house can stay powered through a grid outage rather than just a handful of critical circuits.

With 0 ms load-side backup switchover (when paired with a PowerOcean single-phase system), it keeps lights, appliances and electronics running without a flicker. It also adds a 100 A generator port with 2-wire auto-start, supports third-party solar inverters, and provides a non-backup load port for circuits you do not want drawing from the battery. Rated IP54 for indoor or outdoor mounting, it is a compact 15 kg wall-mounted unit.

This gateway is not compatible with the EcoFlow single-phase OCEAN 2 PLUS range. EcoFlow states that the current gateway (SKU EFA-GATEWAY-P1) does not work with OCEAN 2 PLUS single-phase, which has its own integrated backup and does not need an additional gateway. This gateway is intended for PowerOcean single-phase systems.

Safety and installation

Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 and the EcoFlow installation guide, including the G98 / G99 grid connection requirements for the PowerOcean system. The gateway connects to the main distribution panel, so isolate the supply before any work.

Switchover conditions and temperature derating

The 0 ms switchover applies when the gateway is used with an EcoFlow PowerOcean single-phase system and the system's rated power exceeds the total backup load. Between 40 and 55 °C, the allowable current is linearly derated from 100 A to 62.5 A, and above 2,000 m altitude the unit also derates.

Is the gateway compatible with the single-phase OCEAN 2 PLUS?

No. The EcoFlow Gateway (EF-SG-001) is not compatible with the single-phase OCEAN 2 PLUS range. OCEAN 2 PLUS has integrated backup and does not need this gateway. The gateway is designed for PowerOcean single-phase systems.

Which inverters does it work with?
