The Duracell Energy Dura-i HV is a three-phase high-voltage hybrid inverter engineered for commercial properties, high-demand homes and light-industrial energy storage systems. Available in five power outputs — 8 kW, 15 kW, 30 kW, 40 kW and 50 kW — the range scales from single-inverter residential installs right through to multi-unit commercial arrays delivering up to 2.4 MWh of total storage when combined with Dura5 HV batteries. Every model is built into a die-cast aluminium enclosure, supports both solar PV input and grid charging, delivers emergency backup power with a sub-10 ms transfer time, and connects to the Duracell Energy cloud for intelligent tariff-based charge/discharge scheduling. All models carry a 10-year manufacturer's warranty, backed and supported in the UK by Puredrive Energy in Toddington, Gloucestershire.
The Dura-i HV must be installed by a suitably qualified electrical engineer familiar with three-phase grid-tied inverter systems, in accordance with BS 7671, G98/G99 regulations and the manufacturer's installation manual. A G99 application must be submitted to your DNO prior to commissioning. For technical support contact Duracell Energy on 01386 577845 or sales.uk@duracellenergy.com.
The 8 kW–30 kW models dissipate heat entirely through natural convection — no moving parts means lower acoustic output, zero fan-failure risk and reduced maintenance. The HV40 and HV50 add smart fan cooling to manage the greater thermal load at peak output, rated at 55 dB(A) and 60 dB(A) respectively.
The HV system uses a 100–800 V battery bus (150–600 V on HV8), compatible exclusively with the Dura5 HV LiFePO4 battery. High-voltage DC minimises conductor losses and allows up to 16 battery modules per inverter for up to 80 kWh per unit, scalable without additional conversion stages.
The HV8 supports up to 150% PV oversize relative to inverter rating; the 15–50 kW models support up to 100% oversize. Broad MPPT voltage windows of 150–950 V accommodate long string runs and diverse panel combinations, reducing DC cabling cost on large commercial rooftops.
Multiple Dura-i HV inverters can be paralleled in Primary–Secondary mode for a coordinated system. Up to 30 inverters running together with 16 batteries each delivers a theoretical 2.4 MWh of storage — suitable for commercial facilities, large farms or light industrial sites requiring reliable peak-shaving or backup.
All HV models switch to off-grid backup mode in under 10 milliseconds, seamlessly below the threshold at which most sensitive equipment notices a supply interruption. Peak backup capacity reaches up to 70,000 W for 10 seconds on the HV50 — sufficient to start large motor loads during a grid outage.
Integrated WLAN, RS485 and dual CAN communication connects the Dura-i HV to the Duracell Energy cloud. The built-in AI-driven Energy Management System optimises charge and discharge schedules against real-time tariff data — including dynamic business tariffs — to minimise electricity costs automatically without manual intervention.
The Durai-HV8 (PD-DH3P-8K-G1) uses a smaller enclosure (450 × 550 × 185 mm, 31 kg, IP65) from the 5–10 kW family. The HV15 through HV50 share a larger die-cast enclosure (615 × 465 × 255 mm, IP66), offer three MPPT inputs instead of two, and support a wider battery voltage range of 100–800 V. If your project is at the boundary between HV8 and HV15, check mounting provisions carefully.
