The Calmag CalSoft Mini is a compact, fully automatic metered water softener designed to fit into all household situations — under a kitchen sink, in a utility room, or in a kitchen cupboard. Manufactured in the UK by Calmag, the only independently owned UK manufacturer to produce a complete range of water treatment products, the CalSoft Mini features a 12.5-litre resin capacity suitable for 1–8 people, with high-flow capabilities reaching 70 l/min through the 22mm kit. This bundle includes the 22mm stainless steel Hi-Flow installation kit with hoses — suitable for combi boilers, unvented/pressurised systems, and Megaflow cylinders.
The CalSoft Mini also includes an integrated quick-connect bypass valve with ¾" or 1" adaptor fittings — this features quick-release connections for faster, easier installation and incorporates the water meter within the bypass body itself, saving approximately 5 inches of installation space compared to external meter arrangements. Replaces the previous Calsoft M model. Supplied with a water hardness test kit and a 5-year parts guarantee.

Does this include installation hoses?
Yes — this bundle includes the full 22mm stainless steel Hi-Flow installation kit with hoses. The 22mm kit is suitable for combination boilers, unvented pressurised cylinders, and Megaflow systems. If your system uses 15mm pipework only, the separately listed 15mm install kit is also available.
What does the quick-connect bypass do?
The quick-connect bypass allows the water supply to be temporarily routed around the softener during maintenance, regeneration, or in the event of a fault — without the need to isolate the main supply. The quick-release fittings make it much faster to connect and disconnect the softener compared to traditional compression arrangements. The integrated meter in the bypass body also eliminates the need for a separate inline meter, saving installation space.
Is the CalSoft Mini suitable for a combi boiler system?
Yes — with the 22mm kit, the CalSoft Mini is fully compatible with combi boiler systems and delivers up to 70 l/min maximum flow, ensuring no pressure restriction at the boiler cold feed or hot taps. It is also suitable for conventional vented systems, unvented cylinders, and pressurised systems.
Does the softener need electricity?
Yes — the CalSoft Mini requires a standard UK mains power supply to operate the electronic controller. A power socket (typically 13A standard socket) is required within reach of the installation position. If power fails, the controller's memory retains all pre-set programme settings.
⚠️ Note: Supplied with 22mm Hi-Flow install kit and quick-connect bypass with integrated meter. A separate unsoftened drinking water tap is required under Building Regulations.
