Description

The Becker & Wolf BWHP100WMH134 is a 100-litre, wall-mounted horizontal, all-in-one hot water heat pump for small households. At just 470 mm in diameter and 1,180 mm long, the horizontal layout lets the unit lie on its wall instead of standing tall, which helps where headroom or vertical space is limited. It is factory-tested and plug-and-play ready.

It uses R134a refrigerant, carries an A+ ErP energy class with an EN 16147 COP of 2.942, and runs at a rated 38 dB(A). A 2 kW electric element backs up the heat pump, the Becker & Wolf app gives remote access, and a G3 unvented kit is supplied. As an all-in-one unit it needs no outdoor unit and no refrigerant pipework, so installation focuses on water, electrical and condensate connections.

Unvented hot water: competent installation required

This is a mains-pressure (unvented) storage system. Installation, commissioning and the safety discharge arrangements must follow Building Regulations Part G3 and be carried out by a suitably qualified G3-competent installer. Part G requires a potable expansion vessel and a tundish in the system, fitted by the installer. Follow the manufacturer's installation manual for mounting, clearances and connections.

Hot water only: not a space heating replacement

This unit heats domestic hot water only and does not provide central heating. It replaces gas or direct-electric hot water production; keep a separate heat source for space heating.

Space, weight and electrical supply

The unit measures 470 mm diameter x 1,180 mm and weighs 50 kg net (54 kg gross), so confirm the wall and brackets can carry the filled weight of the tank. It is non-ducted and draws 180 m³/h of room air, with a heat pump working range of -7 °C to +43 °C ambient. Supply is 220–240 V, 1-phase, 50 Hz with a maximum current of 11.4 A. Plan a condensate drain, and mount the unit horizontally only, as designed.

R134a model: check the refrigerant against your priorities

This is the R134a model in the range, with a CO2 equivalent of 0.4004 t and a GWP of 1,430. The R290 wall-mounted models use a refrigerant with a GWP of 3. Choose this unit when the horizontal layout and low noise are what your installation needs.

What is the difference between R134a and R290?
