The Ariston Vertical Starter (Part No. 3318079) is the mandatory boiler-to-flue adaptor required for every vertical coaxial flue installation on Ariston's HE condensing boiler range. It clamps to the boiler's exhaust manifold and provides the push-fit Ø60/100 mm socket into which the vertical flue terminal kit seats above — creating the sealed transition that directs combustion gases upward through the ceiling and roof rather than horizontally through the wall. Without the vertical starter, neither the standard domestic vertical flue kits (3318080, 3318081) nor the leisure 100mm kit (3319235) can connect to the boiler. Do I need the vertical starter if I'm only fitting a vertical flue kit?
Yes — the vertical starter is always required for a vertical installation. The vertical flue kits (3318080, 3318081, 3319235) cannot attach directly to the boiler without it. The starter provides the transition piece between the boiler's top manifold outlet and the push-fit socket that receives the flue pipe above.
Is the vertical starter the same part for the 24 kW and 30 kW E-Combi ONE?
Yes. The 3318079 is the same vertical starter for both the 24 kW (3301131) and 30 kW (3301132) E-Combi ONE, and across the entire Ariston HE ONE Series. Only the boiler body changes between outputs — all models share the same Ø60/100 HE flue connection geometry.
What is the silver version (3319167) and when should I use it?
The 3319167 is mechanically identical to the 3318079 but finished in silver to match the Alteas ONE+ NET's premium silver flue range. Use 3319167 when the flue pipe is visible and colour consistency with the silver flue extensions and elbows (3319164–3319168 range) is required. Use 3318079 in all other cases.
Should I buy the 3318074 bundle or the 3318079 starter alone?
If you are purchasing the horizontal flue kit (3318073) and vertical starter together — common for installers who carry both and decide the flue route on site — the 3318074 bundle is the more economical choice.
