The Ariston Aures Multi 9.5kW is a compact, wall-mounted instantaneous electric water heater that delivers hot water on demand without the need for a storage cylinder or pre-heating time. Designed specifically for the UK market, the Aures Multi heats water as it flows through the unit — providing hot water only when a tap is opened, and stopping as soon as the tap is closed. This eliminates standby heat losses entirely, earning the unit an ErP energy efficiency class A rating.
The Multi-Point configuration means the Aures can supply one or several outlets (not simultaneously) from a single unit — suitable for a kitchen sink plus a nearby hand basin, a bathroom wash basin and shower, or multiple hand wash points in a commercial setting. Its compact dimensions (304mm × 220mm × 110mm) make it ideal for installation in narrow utility rooms, under kitchen sinks, in garages, conservatories, en-suites, and annexes where a conventional boiler connection is unavailable or impractical. 💡 Multi-Point vs Single Point — What Does "Multi" Mean?
The Aures Multi can supply hot water to multiple outlets — for example, a kitchen tap and a nearby bathroom hand basin — from a single unit. However, these outlets are served one at a time, not simultaneously. When one tap is open, the unit heats that outlet's water. If a second tap is opened at the same time, flow is shared across both outlets and the temperature from each will be lower. For a layout where simultaneous hot water demand from two outlets is required at full temperature, two separate units (or a storage heater) would be needed.

What electrical supply does the Aures Multi 9.5kW need?
The Aures Multi 9.5kW requires a dedicated 230V radial circuit, typically protected by a 40A MCB or RCBO (RCD protected). The cable must be sized appropriately for a 9.5kW continuous load — typically 6mm² cable minimum, but this must be confirmed by a qualified electrician for the specific installation. The unit cannot be run from a standard 13A ring main socket. Installation must be carried out or supervised by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).
Can the Aures Multi run a shower?
The Aures Multi 9.5kW can supply a shower at moderate flow rates — at 9.5kW and standard UK mains pressure it will deliver approximately 2–4 litres per minute at a comfortable shower temperature (38–42°C), which is similar to a basic electric shower. However, it is not designed or certified as an electric shower unit and is not rated for a power shower (which would typically require 9.5kW or more as a dedicated shower-only device). Is the Aures Multi suitable for hard water areas?
Instantaneous water heaters in hard water areas will accumulate limescale on the heating element over time, which can reduce efficiency and eventually lead to failure. In hard water areas, the use of an inline scale inhibitor or water softener upstream of the Aures Multi is recommended to extend service life. Regular descaling as part of periodic maintenance is also advisable in hard water areas.
Does the Aures Multi require a cold water storage tank?
No — the Aures Multi connects directly to the mains cold water supply. No storage tank or header tank is required. Water enters the unit cold and is heated as it flows through the element — an instantaneous (or "tankless") system. This makes it particularly well-suited to modern plumbing systems and direct mains supply installations.
