The Aiko Stellar 3N+ 660W (manufacturer model AIKO-A660-MDE72Dw) is a third-generation, large-format N-type ABC (All Back Contact) solar panel built for commercial, industrial and ground-mount projects that need maximum power from every square metre. With 144 N-type ABC cells (6 × 24), a 24.4% module efficiency and a 2,382 × 1,134 mm footprint, it packs more kWp into each module, which means fewer panels, rails, cables and labour hours per installed megawatt.
All electrical contacts sit on the rear of the cell, so the front surface has no busbars or grid lines, giving maximum active cell area and a uniform, clean appearance. The bifacial dual-glass construction (2.0 mm + 2.0 mm coated semi-tempered glass) adds rear-side generation, and the silver anodised aluminium frame, IP68 junction box with 3 bypass diodes and 1500 V DC system rating are designed for long service life. Every panel is backed by a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty.

Part number and certification
Part No: AIK-A-MDE72-660-SF-DG-01C | Manufacturer model: AIKO-A660-MDE72Dw | MCS Reference: MR 50677721 0001/2392 | 01C connector variant. The manufacturer datasheet shows IEC 61215 and IEC 61730, 2014/35/EU, Tier 1 (BloombergNEF), CE and TÜV Rheinland marks, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems, with Munich Re as warranty partner.
Safety and compliance
Solar panels produce live DC voltage whenever they are exposed to light, and this module is rated for systems up to 1500 V DC. Installation, string design and connection must be carried out by competent persons in line with BS 7671, the manufacturer instructions and the applicable G98/G99 grid connection process. For MCS-certified installations the installer must hold MCS certification.
Handling and compatibility
At 32.2 kg (±3%) and 2,382 mm long, each panel needs two people to lift and carry safely, and mounting structures must be sized for this large format. This version is the 01C connector variant, and the datasheet lists the connector as MC4 compatible / MC4-EVO2A. Confirm mating connector compatibility before specifying extension cables or other connector types.
Key features
N-type ABC cell technology
All Back Contact cells move every electrical contact to the rear, removing front-side shading from busbars and delivering 24.4% efficiency with a clean, uniform front surface.
Partial shading optimisation
Aiko highlights partial shading optimisation as a core feature of the Stellar 3N+ range, helping maintain output when part of the array is obstructed. The IP68 junction box with 3 bypass diodes supports this.
Bifacial dual-glass design
2.0 + 2.0 mm coated semi-tempered dual glass allows the rear to generate power. The datasheet lists 695 W under BNPI conditions (front 1000 W/m² plus rear 135 W/m²).
Better temperature performance
A Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.26 %/°C and a rated operating range of -40 °C to +70 °C help hold output steady when the panels heat up.
Lower balance of system cost
High power density means fewer modules, rails, clamps and cable runs per MWp. The 36 modules per pallet packaging and 720 per 40 ft HC container keep logistics efficient on larger projects.
Robust and durable
Rated for 5400 Pa front / 2400 Pa rear static load, with IEC Class A fire rating, Class II protection and micro-crack resistance as a stated design focus.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between N-type ABC and standard solar panels?
In a standard panel, metal busbars and grid lines sit on the front of the cell and block part of the light. In an All Back Contact cell every electrical contact is on the rear, so the whole front surface is active. That gives this panel a 24.4% module efficiency and a clean front without visible grid lines.
Is this panel bifacial, and how much extra power can I expect?
Yes. The manufacturer describes it as a dual-glass bifacial module, and the datasheet lists 695 W under BNPI conditions (front 1000 W/m² plus rear 135 W/m²). Real rear-side gain depends on how reflective the ground surface is, mounting height and tilt, so ground-mount and flat-roof layouts with a light surface benefit most.
Which connector does this version use?
This is the 01C connector variant. The manufacturer datasheet lists the connector as MC4 compatible / MC4-EVO2A on 4 mm² cable. Check connector compatibility before mixing with other connector brands or extension leads.
What warranty is included?
Aiko provides a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty. First-year degradation is no more than 1%, then no more than 0.35% per year, guaranteeing 88.85% of rated power at year 30. Optional Munich Re insurance coverage is available on request.
How heavy is it, and how are the panels supplied?
Each panel weighs 32.2 kg (±3%) and measures 2,382 × 1,134 × 30 mm, so plan for two-person handling and check roof or structure loading. Panels are packed 36 per pallet.
Can I use this panel for string design with a 1500 V system?
The module is rated for DC 1500 V maximum system voltage with a 30 A maximum series fuse rating. Use the Voc, Vmp, Isc and Imp values and the temperature coefficients in the specification above, together with your inverter’s input limits, when designing strings.
