The 89L usable water figure assumes a stored temperature of 65°C, a 10°C cold mains feed, and blending down to a 41°C delivery temperature - the standard reference point used across the QH range. Actual usable volume will vary with incoming mains temperature and the delivery temperature selected on site.

Installation & Trade Notes:
This unit is designed for a vented (low-pressure) cold water supply. The supplied PRV must be fitted and plumbed to a safe, visible, frost-free discharge point in compliance with Water Regulations and Building Regulations Part G. This model is vertical installation only - it cannot be mounted horizontally.
All electrical work must be carried out by a Part P-registered electrician. Connect via a 13A fused spur or remove the plug for hardwired connection; the circuit must be protected by an RCD. Water connections are 15mm (inlet & outlet). Flush the cylinder before commissioning and set the thermostat to a minimum of 60°C in accordance with HTM 04-01 Legionella prevention guidance.
How much usable hot water does the 50-litre cylinder provide?
Using the standard reference of a 65°C store, 10°C cold main, and 41°C delivery temperature, the cylinder yields approximately 89 litres of usable hot water per cycle - well suited to a single occupant, or two people with staggered usage.
Can this unit be mounted horizontally?
No. This model is designed for vertical wall-mounting only. Its compact 450 x 240 x 870mm footprint is intended to fit airing cupboards and tight plant spaces in the vertical orientation.
What are the three power settings for?
The 800W / 1,200W / 2,000W selector lets you match the draw to your electrical supply or tariff. Use 800W for slow, economical overnight heating on an off-peak tariff or with solar diversion, 2,000W for the fastest heat-up, or 1,200W for a balance of the two.
Is the pressure relief valve included?
Yes - a PRV is supplied as standard and must be fitted and plumbed to a safe discharge point. This is a legal requirement under the Water Regulations.
Can it be hardwired?
Yes. Remove the 13A plug and connect the supply cable directly to a fused connection unit. All electrical work must be carried out by a competent person under Building Regulations Part P.
What does the anode alarm do?
The magnesium anode protects the inner vessel from corrosion. When it's depleted, the unit triggers a visual and audible alarm, prompting timely replacement - a key part of the Extra Life series' extended-longevity design.
Is it compatible with Economy 7 or solar PV?
Yes to both. Use a time-switch for off-peak Economy 7 overnight heating, or pair with a solar diverter such as the myenergi Eddi to use surplus solar energy for free hot water. The selectable power settings give extra flexibility to balance heating time against cost.
