The Worcester Bosch Climate CL3000i is a wall-mounted reversible single split air conditioning system that cools in summer and heats in winter from one indoor and one outdoor unit. Available as a 2.6 kW system (CL3000i-Set 26 WE), a 3.5 kW system (CL3000i-Set 35 WE) or a 5.3 kW system (CL3000i-Set 53 WE), it uses a DC inverter compressor and R32 refrigerant to deliver comfort with low running costs in bedrooms, studies, living rooms, home offices and small commercial rooms.

All three sizes reach A++ cooling and A+ heating seasonal efficiency (SEER up to 7.4, SCOP up to 4.2, rising to A+++ in a warmer climate), and it keeps heating and cooling from -15°C outdoor temperature. The i-Clean self-cleaning function and double filtration keep the indoor unit hygienic, while Silent mode brings indoor sound pressure down to just 20 to 21 dB(A). Wi-Fi control via the Bosch HomeCom Easy app is available with the optional Connect Key G10 CL-1.

Installation by an F-Gas registered engineer is mandatory

This system contains R32 fluorinated greenhouse gas and must be installed, commissioned and serviced by an F-Gas registered engineer. Electrical connection must be completed by a qualified electrician in line with BS 7671.

R32 room-size and ignition-source requirements

R32 is a mildly flammable (A2L) refrigerant. The manufacturer specifies a minimum room area of 4 m² at an indoor unit installation height of 1.8 m or more, and the indoor unit must not be installed in a room containing open ignition sources such as open flames, a running wall-mounted gas boiler or an operating electric heating appliance.

Wi-Fi control needs an optional accessory

The system is supplied with an infrared remote controller. Smartphone control through the Bosch HomeCom Easy app requires the Connect Key G10 CL-1, which is sold separately.

Sound level figures

The technical table lists 20 dB(A) (2.6 kW) and 21 dB(A) (3.5 kW) as the indoor unit sound pressure in Silent mode, and 20 dB(A) for the 5.3 kW. Manufacturer brochure copy also refers to a Silent outdoor unit mode using the same figures, so treat 20 to 21 dB(A) as the indoor Silent-mode value and note the outdoor unit is rated 55.5 dB(A) (2.6 kW), 55 dB(A) (3.5 kW) and 57 dB(A) (5.3 kW) in normal operation.

Indoor unit (nitrogen-filled), outdoor unit (pre-charged with R32 for a 5 m pipe run), infrared remote controller, cold catalyst filter and drainage elbow with gasket for the outdoor unit.

DC Inverter Technology

A variable-speed DC inverter compressor adjusts output continuously to match the room load, giving fast temperature recovery, tight temperature control and lower electricity use than fixed-speed units. ECO and Gear modes reduce consumption further.

A++ Cooling and A+ Heating

Seasonal efficiency tested to EN 14825: SEER 7.4 (2.6 kW) and 7.0 (3.5 and 5.3 kW) for cooling, SCOP 4.1, 4.2 and 4.0 for heating in an average climate, and SCOP 5.2, 5.5 and 5.1 (A+++) in a warmer climate.

Quiet Operation

Silent mode lowers indoor sound pressure to 20 dB(A) (2.6 and 5.3 kW) or 21 dB(A) (3.5 kW), ideal for bedrooms, nurseries and home offices. A Silent outdoor unit mode reduces noise outside for neighbours.

i-Clean and Double Filtration

i-Clean heats the evaporator to 56°C to remove up to 99% of bacteria and prevent mould. The double filtration system captures odours, harmful gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Wide Operating Range

Heating and cooling from -15°C outdoor temperature, with cooling up to +50°C and heating up to +24°C. Low ambient cooling mode keeps rooms cool in winter, and the golden-fin anti-corrosion coating protects the outdoor coil.

Smart Comfort Controls

Follow Me uses the sensor in the remote controller, Wind Avoid Me directs airflow away from you, and the 1-2-3-5 hour off timer, Dry mode, 8°C Heating mode and Auto restart are all included. Wi-Fi is available with the Connect Key G10 CL-1.

CL3000i 2.6 kW (CL3000i-Set 26 WE)

2.6 kW cooling, 2.9 kW heating. The most compact and most efficient model in the range at SEER 7.4. Suited to small bedrooms, studies and single offices of around 25 m². Indoor unit only 729 mm wide.

CL3000i 3.5 kW (CL3000i-Set 35 WE)

3.5 kW cooling, 3.8 kW heating with SCOP 4.2. Suited to larger bedrooms, living rooms and open offices of around 35 m². Same outdoor unit footprint of 720 x 270 x 495 mm.

CL3000i 5.3 kW (CL3000i-Set 53 WE)

5.3 kW cooling, 5.6 kW heating with SCOP 4.0. Suited to large living rooms, open-plan spaces and larger offices of around 50 m². Needs Ø12.7 mm gas pipework and supports a 30 m pipe run with up to 20 m height difference.

Room sizes assume a typical 40 W/m³ load (about 100 W/m² at 2.5 m ceiling height). Glazing, orientation, insulation, occupancy and equipment all change the requirement, so use a proper heat gain and heat loss calculation before selecting a size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the CL3000i heat as well as cool?

Yes. It is a reversible air-to-air heat pump. In heating mode it delivers 2.9 kW (2.6 kW model), 3.8 kW (3.5 kW model) or 5.6 kW (5.3 kW model) and operates down to -15°C outdoor temperature, with a SCOP of 4.0 to 4.2 in an average climate.

Do I need an F-Gas registered engineer to install it?

Yes. The system contains R32 refrigerant, so installation, commissioning and servicing must be completed by an F-Gas registered engineer. We verify F-Gas certification before supplying, so please submit your details using the certification form at the top of this page.

How long can the refrigerant pipe run be?

The 2.6 kW and 3.5 kW models support 3 m to 25 m with a maximum height difference of 10 m, using Ø6.35 mm liquid and Ø9.52 mm gas pipework. The 5.3 kW model supports 3 m to 30 m with up to 20 m height difference, using Ø6.35 mm liquid and Ø12.7 mm gas pipework. All outdoor units are pre-charged for 5 m, and an additional 12 g/m of R32 is required beyond that.

Can I control it from my smartphone?

Yes, with the optional Connect Key G10 CL-1 (sold separately). It adds Wi-Fi and allows control through the Bosch HomeCom Easy app. An infrared remote controller with Follow Me is supplied as standard.

How quiet is the indoor unit?

Indoor sound pressure is 37 dB(A) on high (2.6 and 3.5 kW) and falls to 20 dB(A) (2.6 and 5.3 kW) or 21 dB(A) (3.5 kW) in Silent mode, which suits bedrooms and nurseries. The 5.3 kW indoor unit is 41 dB(A) on high. Outdoor units are rated 55.5, 55 and 57 dB(A) for the 2.6, 3.5 and 5.3 kW models in normal operation.

What does the i-Clean function do?

i-Clean heats the indoor evaporator to 56°C to remove up to 99% of bacteria and reduce mould and odours. It is started from the remote controller and works alongside the double filtration system.

The manufacturer offers up to 5 years guarantee on its air conditioning units, subject to the manufacturer terms and conditions and the installer's registration. Your installer can confirm the guarantee available on your installation.
